Why don't they put some form of alcohol checker on eBay? True dit: I was travelling home last Thursday after having 'a couple' of beers, and being sensible I wasn't driving but using the train. At some point on my journey I obviously accessed eBay on my tablet. Now, on that very morning I had be warned by She Who Casts No Shadow NOT to buy any more Lego stuff for our Son. He had to wait until his Birthday/Xmas apparently. She said this in a very stern voice, with the additional threat of the wagging index finger.
When I am rat-arsed, I enter survival mode and I'm a bit like a homing pigeon. I always make it home, but sometimes I don't remember how I did it. This was one of those journey's.
Well, I get into work Friday morning, and at some point I access my eBay account to find that I had won one Lego bid, was currently the top bid on another Lego bid, and had lost a third Lego bid.
How do I explain this when the first item arrives?

A - Tell her it's a duplicate order and must be a mistake by ebay. You will send it back when you get time.
B - Make sure you are home when it gets delivered.
C - Ask a mate if he will take delivery of it and then email the seller and give him your mate's address. I've done this many times when I want to keep deliveries as a surprise.

You ended up winning it, and can't get out of this purchase, but it's honestly the last one.

More importantly, what's he getting? Well, just lately he's decided he wants to build a town. He already had various bits and pieces, so I've got him some more houses/shops to go with it. Here is a small photo of what he is doing...and so I've got the following sets to go with it.   |

Got a good deal on both. They were used/opened, but all pieces are there and the boxes are in very good condition, so basically I got them for half the retail price.

Oktoberfest is in September!!!! It ends on the first weekend of October.........I'm going to the Frankfurt Oktoberfest tomorrow ! I will not remember the journey home. Probably best to disable all links to ebay for 24 hrs then. It's ok, I won't have my tablet with me. Also, She Who Casts No Shadow is going as well. I'm pretty sure that when I order my second liter of beer, she'll pipe up with, "you shouldn't drink so much"..............yes, seriously, while we are at the Oktoberfest.....you couldn't make it up ! |
