Another poor performance with a laboured approach that created nothing to get excited about.If it hadn't been for Bonham we would have been facing a mountain to climb at half time. Too many players were not up to the task today and it needs to be sorted soon before the gap from the bottom four becomes too big.

Bonham 8.5 Outstanding game, gets marked down slightly for not saving the goal but can't be too harsh as he kept the score down with some fantastic saves
J Clarke 5 Will give his all but lacking quality and pace
Craig 6 A long afternoon
Lockyer 6 A long afternoon
Martin 4 Lacking quality and pace
Upson 4 Over run in midfield
Lines 4 See above and too flimsy, poor discipline too again
Clarke 6 Battled hard, lacks quality but our most consistent player this season
Bennett 4 Rarely threatened
Payne 4 Needs to lose some timber and show more
Matthews 5 NOLE, Wouldn't have subbed him personally.
Subs
Nichols 5 Tried with little service. He really is battling more this season and uses his body well but to little avail
Reilly 5 Didn't really threaten. Service up to him was poor.
Jakubiak 5 Service up to him was poor. Would like to see him start a game.
Crowd 7 Got behind the lads well considering there wasn't much to shout about.
Ref 4.5 Homer but didn't get any big decisions wrong. Some frustrating little free kicks he kept giving Luton though.
Luton 7.5 One of the better sides I have seen this season, should have took more of their chances but I can see them being of those teams fighting for the last playoff spot. Confident, some lovely passing movements and got the ball out wide quick often (the opposite of us). Also defended resolutely (although I think I could defend against us)

Thought I’d better post as fewer of us at this one;
Bonham 9 - most impressed I’ve been of a Rovers keeper in ages!
J. Clarke 6 didn’t allow anyone to whiz past him, much better game
Lockyer 6 solid
Craig 6 (seemed better, didn’t lose anything because of his lack of jumping this time!)
Martin 4 I thought he was poor, when’s the new signing fit? Meantime I would play Kelly
Upson 5 a mixed performance, some good bits, some awful bits
O. Clarke 6 I thought he did OK
Lines 6 approaching where he needs to be
Matthews 5 ran about a lot but didn’t notice any impact in his brief time on the pitch
Payne 4.5 did some defending, maybe that’s too much for him to be at both ends
Bennett 4 why is he so unpredictable, I would have taken him off not Matthews
Subs: Nichols 6 I know he didn’t score, but he worked very hard / well
Reilly 5 ok but no impact really
Jakubiak 5 If only he hadn’t stood on the ball towards the end, could have been the hero
Crowd 5 OK note great, “We’re Bristol Rovers, we stay till the end” some negative people about though, why do they bother, whinging from the start...
Ref 2 really poor, my sons under 14 team ref in the morning was much better
Luton 6 quite a good side but nothing special - better than us
DC 3 not sure what he is trying to do currently I’m afraid
Only my opinions obviously....

Bonham has been in the top two in each of his first three games something only previously achieved by Liam Sercombe.
His 8.7 was the second highest ever rating for a goalkeeper in the over 200 games in these threads. Only Kelle Roos' 9.0 away to Bradford beats it.
The starting XI average was 5.33.
