I also watched the hearing, and yes, both appeared to be very intelligent, convincing and in truth you found yourself believing both of them !
However, you have to question why it has taken so many years for this woman to come out with her complaint. There is no evidence and it's just a case of 'he said she said'. Sounds as though they may have had a teenage drunken fumble, which she has resented all these years. Well, I'm pretty sure that we've all had some teenage drunken fumbles that we've regretted, however, I think it is wrong to try and destroy a man's career after so many years. The whole case is just a political stunt in my view.

Yeah it's kinda hard not to think this is a stunt too.
I'm no fan of his, but I'm sure there are not many blokes who haven't had a drunken and sh**ty fumble when we were in our teens.
The thing that makes this different is her assertion that he was threatening towards her. Have to say, I can well believe that and probably should be enough to keep him from this particular appointment.
Is it wrong to say I didn't particularly like either of them?
The whole mess stinks.

It's certainly true that it wasn't as much of an acceptable or easy thing to report back then.
Do you think cops back then would have taken her seriously or given a sh**?
You only have to look at the Brock Turner case to see how that went down.

Just to join in, the whole thing makes for uncomfortable reading / watching.
I bought her story that she didn't want to admit being out drinking, and drinking with "boys" led her to not report it.
I can't stand Kavanaugh's views, but I don't think he should be hung on a teenage "incident" where no rape occurred.
If someone else comes out and claims something similar later in his life then it's over for him. But in the absence of that the USA will be saddled with a hopelessly conservative Supreme Court who will interprate the 2nd amendment as literally as they will the Old Testament. For years. How long before Roe v Wade reappears.

All this historical stuff is just using up valuable legal, judicial, police and public time. Meanwhile gangs, drugs, plastic pollution, air pollution, overcrowding, poverty and economic stagnation continue to flourish. Nothing to worry about really.
