Yeah. I get he's lacking confidence, what striker wouldn't given his scoring record. Thing is, all strikers have a bad patch but it's the good ones that deal with the confidence issue and work their way back in to the team and start scoring. He's consistently being given chances and not taking them. You name me one other striker in league football with that record. Calvin Andrew? He’s scored 36 goals in 340 games in the football league across his career, yet he’s never played below league two. Always baffled me that he gets club after club with that record. Close, but that's still a goal every 10 games ish to Nicholls 25. What does Andrew offer in assists?

Based on what I seen today my team for Tuesday night.
Bonham Parts, Craig, Lockyer, Kelly. Bennet, Upson, Sinclair, Matthews Sercombe Nichols
Or if 2 up front Nichols, Reilly.. both players run around and put the effort in. Drop Sinclair to the bench and play Sercombe in the 4 like today.

What was Sinclair doing today? Wasn’t sure if that was the position he was told to play in or he just thought “f**k it, im gonna see if I can win this for us” and did his own thing!

Right mid first half, seem to swap with Sercs in the second half and play "in the hole" or No 10 where he seemed to be more effective than Sercs or Jakubiak who both had shocking first halfs.

He has played in that attacking central midfield position several times for the club.

Did you actually watch the match? I can't see anyone who did can criticise Nichols on his performance today, particularly given there's no better option upfront at the moment. So Nichols wasn't actually totally sh** today. He still wasnt very good. Ran around a lot but caused ZERO problems. Again. We had 9 other players just as sh** today

So what about the 3 decent attempts on goal including one being pushed on to the bar by the goalie? Plus he finally, physically, took on the centre backs.

I've already said that. I just can't get excited by a player who has done more or less f**k all in an entire YEAR!!

I actually thought Nichols had a very good game today really, showed some fight and I liked that. If he continues with that sort of willingness to get involved, to get in the right position im sure goals will come. It's always been his heart I have doubted. I really hope DC starts with the same back 4 and midfield that finished the game yesterday. There was visibly a "chemistry" between the players as they complimented each other's games. Touch wood... we don't look like conceeeding to many now, our back 4 seem solid with Bonham behind them. This should give DC confidence to play the more attacking players we finished with in midfield yesterday. You know it makes sense DC. Big game Tuesday night.

I really don't get this attitude towards him Hugo, do you really think he wants this situation? It must be agony for him, but he still plays his heart out even though he can't score. Imo it isn't just his fault, the narrow tactics that DC employs doesn't give him or the other strikers any room to do anything in the box, they even have to drift out to the wings to get the ball in positions where they won't score from. Second half was entirely different once he played with wingers. It's down to DC's rigid thinking. I would persevere with Tom and the wingers and if the other strikers score and he doesn't it would be time to look at the situation again.

The second half was exactly how we should be starting and approaching every game..we were creating chances and looked a threat, more of the same and I'm sure Nichols will find the net. I would play him up front with Reilly personally, and have midfield that finished yesterday behind them.

Happens to every club.
