This link/article is just wrong in so many ways. "He broke under torture during nearly six years of imprisonment after he was shot down in North Vietnam, but there are conflicting claims as to whether he was a “Hanoi Hilton Songbird” – one of those Americans who became collaborators during their incarceration at the notorious prison they nicknamed after the famous hotel." Every man will break eventually. It's just a matter of time. Terrible, terrible link.

As much as I don't like Trump, he wasn't alone, it was widespread amongst middle class America.
A certain Clinton also dodged the draft due to his Oxford scholarships and Bush Jr was accused of taking a 'cushy' option.
8/10 draftees were from under educated backgrounds with use of higher education to defer (read avoid*) the call up. Even the President of Yale described it as a misuse of education. Power and privilege, which LBJ was reluctant to stop.
*N.b Pirate, this doesn't link in with Orthodox Jews avoiding national service in Israel. Separate topic. Thanks in advance.

Nice turn of phrase you have. No probs. Serving in the military is not for everyone. I fully understand that. In the same way that someone who doesn't want to serve is not a coward. I don't understand this slur thrown at people regarded as 'draft dodgers'.

Just like the CNN reporter was entitled to question Trumps activities oh hang on......... Yes, you're finally getting it ! The reporter did ask Trump a question, and Trump gave him a reply. That is a fact. Trump then went to move on around the room, and the CNN guy refused to stop talking and wanted to ask a question about something totally different. Not only that, but the CNN guy wanted Trump to talk about an 'ongoing investigation', which we all know is not recommended. Do you ever read anything I write on this forum? Trump answered 68 questions in that Press Conference, and it last 1.5 hours.

Am I a Trump supporter? The answer is 'no', but I think there is a certain amount of hypocrisy surrounding him. He is the democratically elected President of the United States. The screaming and shouting surrounding that press conference is just incredible. Read the media, and you'll find the Democrats, now they control the House, are all talking about what they can do to bring down Trump. It's all they are talking about. I reckon the average Joe on the street in the US just want the House to get on with running the country. The Democrats are just shooting themselves in the foot, and they haven't learned a thing from the Hilary Clinton fiasco. Let's not forget the whole Russian thing was started after confidential e-mails, that were hacked from the private servers of Clinton and also the Democratic Party, were released to the public. The Democrats start shouting 'it was the Russians wot did it', when the real stories were why did Clinton have Confidential/Secret information on her private server, which incidentally was against the law in the US? and why did the Democrat's fix their own internal party nomination so that Clinton beat Sanders? So far, after over two years of 'investigation' by the media, the FBI etc etc, there is still no real evidence against Trump regarding 'the Russians'.

"deregulation of safety regulations workers rights and food standards and privatisation of the NHS" - I haven't seen any of those politicians calling for any of that? I think you'll find that the largest amount of privatisation in the NHS happened under the last Labour Government, and anyway, it is not that bad a thing. If a private company can provide the same service/treatment for particular things, and do so at a lower cost than the NHS, then it is a good thing to do. "Redwood and Rees-Mogg moving hedge funds out of the country" - Ha, ha, I don't think so. Where on earth do you get this stuff

Rephrase advising clients to move money to Ireland They haven't moved any money to Ireland. I assume you are referring to the new Irish Fund they have set-up? This is their second Irish Fund, and was initially started up with $50m (39 million quid) from the Swedish National Pension Fund. They also have funds domiciled all over the world including in Europe, the US and Australasia. If you manage funds for clients, then it is your responsibility to get the best return for those clients. Sometimes clients take your advice, and other times clients may tell you where they want their money to sit. To be successful, you have to offer a global service to your client base.

Moving beyond the nitty gritty of JRG's business dealings, more pertinent are his political and social beliefs and perspectives. A very good insight in the following link and a good review of his father who wrote, what turns out to be prophetic, a book in 1997. I laugh loudly at those who voted for Leave when I read this, given the beliefs held by Mogg and his ilk on both sides of the Atlantic. Talk of Turkeys voting for Christmas. www.theguardian.com/books/2018/nov/09/mystic-mogg-jacob-rees-mogg-willam-predicts-brexit-plans

More sinister news from Trumps USA .The video of Anconas spat with the intern was apparently altered to show the same frame several times over to make his actions appear more aggressive. The original video was doctored by Inforward a far right group.Shades of the Soviet Union. All this denied by the odious Huckerbee Sanders the well known Trump apologist and one of the few to keep her job for any length of time

Not again Oldie, you've posted the exact same thing before. Sorry, but it is wrong to try to pin something on someone when it is written by someone else. You must be getting desperate.
