It seems the Supporters club coaches leave Kingswood on Sunday at 7am and 7-30 at the MEM. This seems remarkably early and as we are driving up just wonder if anybody knows why they are leaving so early as we were thinking about 9-30. Any information anybody. Cheers.

Is it due to Remembrance Sunday - I am planning to be parked up somewhere before 11:00 am

Well that's the reason I am not going, and I have a lot of friends in Barnet too.

Better early than late, especially after the stick they got a while back for leaving the Mem about 10 minutes before the away fixture.
That is exceptionally early though.
Many football fans do not even know that 7 am on Sunday is an actual thing.

Of course Rememberance Sunday is far more important than ANY Football match. So is this definitely the reason for leaving early ie Traffic expectations? Anybody from the Supporters club prepared to comment?

I have it on good authority that the new Supporters Club coaches are in fact, steam driven. Top speed of 20mph. I've also been told from someone ITK that each passenger has to bring a 4lb bag of coal with them, otherwise they'll have to stop and dig some up. Remember, evolution not revolution.

As a nod to the end of the First World War the Supporters Club have decided to use transport that would have been readily available in 1918 to bring the troops back from the front line. With that in mind the same Eagles Coaches will be used as per normal.

Anybody from the Supporters club prepared to comment? As far as I know,it is the coach drivers that decide what time to leave for away games. Was told they wanted to be at the ground in time for 11 am to pay their respects. Can understand that, but I would have thought they could time it to be at a sevices(South Mimms?) for 11.am We are leaving by car at 8.30,still too early in my opinion.

Took me 1.5 hours to do ten miles through the road work section after Reading services last Tuesday morning. Can see why the coaches are leaving early especially with a 1245 kick off.

With 5000+ expected to travel, an early start is needed to make sure the masses can get in, otherwise it will be another big lockout
