Another game we could of had 4 or even five goals already. Sercombe has been class and a brilliant finish with a nicholls assist as well.

From the East Terrace, it looked like the ball changed direction as it travelled upwards ffrom their ball in and goal. Couldn’t say who it was though. When Scunmy player receiving treatment James
Clarke was talking to ref. Guessing that by his hand gestures he was asking how the Lino could have seen it with the sun in his eyes.

We’ve looked dodgey at the back but have played alright.
With lines in the middle he’s always looking to spread it wide and we haven’t given him enough options but when we have he’s found his man and if you’ve got Chris lines in midfield then you have to get players out wide.
Got to win this one Scunthorpe aren’t the side they used to be and we’ve picked up these last few weeks need to keep it going.

Seems a tad unfair that Lockyer has been denied to us, in our perilous position, only for him to sit on the bench last night with Wales. Having not played last night I would have thought he could have been sent back as soon as the match finished to play for us today. I understand that Sunderland requested all their players that were to be called up to be released back to them this weekend.Yes I agree it seems a bit silly to deny us TL when he’s not playing but I guess Giggs won’t give us a second thought, after all the Welsh FA thought he played for the other lot. Perhaps they’ve been faxing city saying he can play! Did Sunderland get their players back? Makes it a bit unfair if they did and others didn’t. UTG! Seeing Scotland are playing their Cup game tonight in Albania, why would they let their players return before even playing a game. |

keeper save 5 minutes before we scored is one of the best saves we’ll see all season.
Got a feeling we’ll need more than one more to win this though , Lockyer only an average Center half at this level but he’s captain and there week in week out we look a bit lame without him.

Payne had a shot saved and won a few headers and flick ons, but still 2 or 3 yards off the pace.

One of the players released was the Sunderland keeper (playing today) who was on the bench for Scotland in the last Nations game I think. I know the Scotland manager was moaning about 9 or more withdrawals from his squad recently. Edit - perhaps it is as simple as the Sunderland manager asked and pointed out the keeper was unlikely to feature? |
