I think players who are paid to primarily score goals should be gagging to take pens. I used to take penalties in the football i played in and i used to run straight to the ball and make sure nobody else could get their hands on it. I agree with your post and imagine payne would have wanted to take it but in fairness lines has done well previous to saturday in that area. |

I used to play striker, was always top scorer (sh** level, however) but never, ever took pens. There was always a queue of glory hunters lining up to take them that I could never be bothered to argue with. |

I didn't want Lines to take the penalty. Against Barnet the keeper nearly saved it, and, incredibly, in his after match interview Lines commented that keepers watch videos of pens and had a good idea of which way they often went ! Why oh why did he then put it in the same corner ? Payne should have taken it.
I dont know why Ollie Clarke has never taken them - with the power in his shot I can't see a keeper stopping it even if he gets a hand to it .

Henry Winter gives verdict on Bristol Rovers - and makes big claim about the Memorial Stadium's pitch Winter, chief football writer at The Times, explained on social media he made the trip to the Memorial Stadium with friends having never been to the ground before.
