Don't understand the fuss. Hamer talked as straight as he could.
I've got no problem with that.

Hammers a freakin liar. He lied through his teeth to me about the UWE being built when on the train from Charlton. Should be good news in 2 weeks. That was 2 years ago! Lying Bastard. He also told me the date of the annual friendly at Sabadell, we ended up going to Portugal.
The man's an arse.
End of.

"The costs of doing it have unfortunately accelerated way beyond what we initially thought the budget would be, but that's acceptable."
Wow. It most certainly is NOT acceptable. They bought the club irresponsibly without knowing how to run it and how to fund it. Absolute embarrassments and if I were them then I'd find it very difficult to sleep at night and to look at myself in the mirror.
I hope I never live to make as terrible judgement in business as they have done.
I am sad it has come to this, as I do believe they're essentially nice people and they had honourable intentions I'm sure, but they have really really messed up and let tens of thousands of people down with their poor planning and ineptitude.

Put it another way, the amount the owners are prepared to spend has decelerated.

I don't have any problem with anything he said tonight. I dont think he was lying about potential buyers, if he had anything he couldnt disclose he would have worked around that without a complete denial.
It does though confirm that a lot of people on this forum post lies on a regular basis. Maybe said people should shut up instead of spouting nonsense.

Tide has turned. We only had to deal with that for 25 mins. D.c deals with that daily. They ain’t getting behind the club, we need to get behind D.c.
Need that non league season crowd to turn up, not the sulky fans who walked away at our darkest days.
Not much we can do other than 90 mins of support. Unless........

Well I've finally succumbed to the conclusion that our chance of greatness has come and gone. Our owners appear to have run out of Ideas have no plan and are doing the bare minimum needed to run a football club, if that, The whole fabric of this club is crumbling and unless there really is someone out there the future looks bleak.

Sadly I have also come to this conclusion. If it isn't already (Which I believe it is) then League 2 will very soon be our natural level. Without radical INVESTMENT in order to expand our horizons, then there's no way we as a club have a future even in the third tier. We're getting overtaken by more and more clubs infrastructure-wise year on year. How the Al-Qadis are not even capable of competing on that front with the likes of Salford City, is truly shocking.

Steve Hamer has told us how it is, he is not lying when he says there is no takeover, not enough money for a training ground, if these things were going to happen then they would be happening and they clearly aren't. He didn't mention confidential clauses this evening but answered the questions unlike his boss, who promised so much and apart from the development squad has delivered next to nothing. S H told me in a letter four months before UWE collapsed that plan B was to stay at the Mem and improve its amenities which is what is happening, although we could do with a bit more than new tents. We are where we are and supporters need to get behind the club and team, in the hope that we can avoid relegation.

Like you I should have difficulty sleeping at night if I had made promises which I could not keep and let down people who had trusted my word. But we must remember that not everyone thinks this way and that the wealthy are often skilled at making sure others pay for mistakes they have made. Throw in the fact that our owners are from a completely different business culture and I don't think we should rely on them (as we would perceive it) doing the right thing for Rovers. They will do whatever is right for themselves and if that entails selling the land at the Mem without first ensuring the club has a suitable place to play in the future then they may well do it.

Hamer is our chairman but he clearly know little more than us as to the intentions of the Al Quadi...this this untenable. No good blaming Hamer, he call only tell us what the family tells him and it seems that's not very much.

A poster has already pointed out above how Hamer can either be called a liar or at the very least misinformed about the goings on at BRFC. It casts tonight's interview in a new light, that's for sure.
