To win from behind, even though against u21s might be the boost the lads need to kick on now. Jesus, things are desperate if we have to get confidence from beating a bunch of kids. Perhaps our good form in this competition is an indicator that kids are all this bunch are capable of beating.

Seems a lot for such a joke cup It's the EFL's way of bribing votes out of the lower league clubs to allow the rich clubs to shaft us all. 20k someone better give go outdoors a shout wael on he’s way how many tents can you get for that?

He didn't need feeding he fed himself! Surely him and Nichols is a better partnership then playing the totally ineffective Payne again. Likewise Clarke and Craig help us to our first victory in 6 games but you just know who'll be back on Saturday.

I'm pretty pleased, we have a responsibility to clean up this competition of under 21 sides. If none of them reach the latter stages it should send a message to the authorities that it is a waste of time if these sides can't compete. The fans can play their part by boycotting the final.

Agreed that it's nice to eliminate the U21 teams, but sadly I don't think it'll make any difference to the EFLs thinking. Even if there were no positives whatsoever in the arrangement, they'll still twist it to make it seem like it's the best thing since sliced bread. Only a matter of time before the idea of B teams in the Football League rears it's ugly head again. Still, I'm glad Rovers won but only because I hope it'll help our league form. Weirdly I wouldn't get much if any satisfaction out of winning this competition, and I never ever thought I'd think that about Rovers. It's a sad indictment of how much of an insult and a joke this competition has become. B teams Out!

I hope the boycott continues however far we get.

That was pretty much a starting League One 11 we put out there tonight. If we lost, fans and DC wouldn't have been happy despite what we think of the competition.

These are kids and we have to use that victory for inspiration that we can win in the Stadium of Light?

Just home, great it was only twenty miles tonight. Probably about 60 or so gasheads in the away end. Much better second half against a very tidy Swansea team who passed the ball well, made several good chances but lacked a killer touch. We became a lot better side as the half went on and we injected more pace into our play. Missed our usual selection of chances, two of which seemed easier to score when six yards out and dead in front of the posts. Sercombe, Upson and Rodman had good games and our two centrehalf were very solid. Thought Leadbitter, Bennett and Payne were poor. Jakubiaks goal was top class but I would doubt he would have got as far as the six yard box from the halfway line against league one defenders.
