The truth is it started to go wrong last February, and that is when we had Harrison and Gaffney up front. So now we have two new "strikers" we blame them. For me DC has been lucky. In the Conference he had a team that had a football league defence and an attack that had something to prove. Everything came together at the right time, and that team rode a crest of a wave in to this division
Since then we have had to strengthen and after making a few terrible signings like Byrne for example, and he has bought in "experience". Experience is expensive compared to a youngster, and usually experience lacks pace. IMHO we didn't need Upson, and I would have been happy to see Kelly continue as left back. So, there are 2 signings we could have saved on. But DC got them in because he will not trust himself to play young players.
I think most of us would prefer to see a team with some well drilled and well coached kids in it trying their very best rather than what we have seen over the past few months. We just about beat Swanseas Under 21 team with our "experienced" players and yet it was a kiddy who scored the winning goal.
DC is arrogant and he can complain as much as he likes but he has a better budget than half of this league. He used the pitch as an excuse last season, The owners this season. I wonder who will be the excuse next season if they keep him on? Maybe it will be the supporters fault because we only turn out in low numbers.
I made the choice not to go yesterday despite having a season ticket. the first home game I have missed in 7 years. I didn't go because I thought, it will be the same players, in the same formations and that will mean the same result.
DC hung on to Luke James for too long, he has done the same with Nicholls. If we have a manager who is so reluctant to change his ways then they he will take us down

At least be balanced in your criticism.

Fair summing up of another depressing day watching our beloved club. For the first time in years we made our way to the exits before the final whistle & met a stream of dejected others leaving the ground. A few weeks ago I thought we had a chance of turning our season around but after seeing that yesterday those thoughts are quickly evaporating. If ever a club needed a knight in shining armour ,it’s us right now. Even the owner left the ground long before the final whistle. Absolutely true, a friend of mine had a photo with him in a restaurant in London at about 8 Saturday night!!

Barcelona completed an incredible 585 passes Saturday.
We couldn't do that if we put Sincs and Linesy on Mastermind for a week.

Letting Matty Taylor go for a for pittance ,we should have broke the bank to stop him leaving, That was end of the beginning.

If we have a manager who is so reluctant to change his ways then they he will take us down I can accept a lot of criticism of DC. But saying he's been lucky is plain stupid and insulting. The state of the club/ squad when we were last relegated - no luck in the world could turn that around.

Like you say we had Luke James and plenty of him.

Looking forward to hearing your reports again now Steve. Will be interesting to hear who you will blame if we lose instead of blaming DC like you have the past few years.

DC recruited the players and selected the team and tactics like DC said the buck stops with him. who do you blame? Thought you wasn’t bothering with this club anymore?
