Whoever takes over whether we like him or not we must at least give him a chance. To be fair he probably wasn't far off with Rag Ass Rovers. At the present time I would settle for anybody who can get us winning a few games again - it has become that desperate because our record this season has been diabolical and we have lost to some bloody awful opposition. My only hope is the appointment will be made sooner rather than later so the new Manager has a fair chance to see what he has here which I don't feel is as bad as some make out. There are some good players and I hope very much that it is a case of they just haven't felt part of the team with being in and out. Players don't become bad players overnight and if Paynr, Rodman,Reilly, Jacubiak, Upson and some others can get back to pre Bristol Rovers form then we could have the basis of a good side with the right man in charge. For me the new players brought in just didn't fit in with the way DC has always set us up and hopefully whoever is appointed will play a more attacking game. I really don't care if the new man is crap at Interviews if he delivers on the pitch. I agree - I said earlier that we've had a poor team but we don't necessarily have a complete set of poor players. IMO we need just three new players - a RB - a tall dominant (experienced) CB and a big dominant CF who leads the line. The rest will fall into place. 1 forward?

I guess appointing a new manager will go one of 3 ways. We either appoint from within and that could mean Coughlan or my preference Chris Hargreaves if we go that way. We could go for the tried and tested way that we went in the noughties by going for someone who’s available, in other words someone who’s been sacked and a fully paid up member of the managers merry-go-round. Or we could go for a younger manager who’s lower down in league 2 or the National league who’s trying to create a career for himself. I would prefer the latter option and think there are good managers lower down who are used to working with smaller budgets but may have good contacts. Whoever is chosen I hope will come with a pedigree of playing good football, use the loan market well and may have friends in high places and can will give younger players a real chance and opportunity in the team if players are not performing and they are good enough. And whichever route the owners take comes with no guarantees, they will all fail eventually but might give us a few years of success before they get the order of the boot. 1974, 1990, 2007, 2014 and 2015 promotions came with younger, hungry managers at the start of their careers. UTG! If the club are waiting for applicants as they have said then a sacked manager or an ex player with no experience is all we are likely to get. Or managers lower, in league 2 or National who want to better themselves. And if they are already in a job then there always seem ways to get around that without directly applying. Agents exist for managers as well. UTG!

Cannot believe I am writing this but I would go for Ian Holloway...I think his presence would give the whole club a massive lift and the contacts he has made since he left would be hugely beneficial. Please no- anyone except that professional Bristolian twat. He'd make us more of a laughing stock than we already are with his brain dead bollocks-talk. Sums our fans up !!! Oldgas- im from Bristol too and proud mate. He doesnt make me feel like a laughing stock. Your comments do though. He wouldnt come back because of people like you and our board. He has played a part in over 500 games and he makes you blush about being from bristol and chatting sh** to the press.

I don't think there is any danger that Cotterell will come to us - why would he ? He must still be paid a fortune by Birmingham and coming to us would be professional suicide as he is surely after (and merits) a far better job than one offered by the fake sheik. The club will run this season with the caretaker and see where that leads us. You never know, he may have a better relationship with the players so they might all fight harder for the cause If league 2 beckons then a successful season there would see a packed Mem and possibly earn the Offensive who own and run the club more money than clinging on to life in league 1. I think it is fair to say we are royally f**ked at this moment and I can't believe Wael thought Marcus would walk.. The things is it's known that Cotterill has been seen at Rovers games and now seems the Evening Post are prepping the ground for his arrival Which games mate ?

If it was Cotterill and he has been on the fringes then why is he not being announced today? DC left on Monday after all so the vacancy is 5 days old already. Starnes said it would take til after Christmas so it sounds like they don't have any sort of immediate plan. He left on Monday? Why was it only announced yesterday if that is the case? Or is it more fantastic communication from the club that they can't even tell us the manager left?

I got the impression from the interview that Starnes suggested DC should go away and think about it for a few days. It was only announced to players and staff on Thursday, as well. No reason for another anti-board rant. It seems a perfectly reasonable sequence of events.

If a member of staff leaves an organisation it must instantly be screamed from the rooftops until senior management are hoarse and peddled on every social media outlet until PR team fingers bleed!

If you listen to it again I believe he said that in the build up to their talk on Monday he had advised DC not to make any rash decisions. I don't recall any explanation given as to why he had left on Monday and yet it was only announced on Thursday.

Honestly, why the f**k does it matter?

Might be an idea if we can get Salah and Van Dijk on loan. Otherwise, hard pass.

I would have thought it more respectful for the staff to be told first (whatever the delay was) then the fans

No they had to get the agreement and paperwork sorted out before releasing the information, that's fair to both sides.
