From that list I would like Warburton.Known for playing a slick passing game, probably holding out for a Championship club and wouldn’t touch us with a barge pole though. Cotterel- No thanks, absolute bell and would be as popular as Buckle if he didn’t turn us around immediately.Too divisive with the sh** connection. *This!*

Sums our fans up !!! Oldgas- im from Bristol too and proud mate. He doesnt make me feel like a laughing stock. Your comments do though. He wouldnt come back because of people like you and our board. He has played a part in over 500 games and he makes you blush about being from bristol and chatting sh** to the press. I'm a proud Bristolian as well. As for him making himself a laughing stock with his inane comments, I suggest you read the postings of fans of other clubs to see how he is perceived, it's not just me saying this. As for his supposed legend status, he's walked out on us twice as a player and once as a manager. When you consider his badge-kissing antics and assertions of undying love and devotion to the club, you have to wonder who he thinks he is kidding. You obviously, but not me. Not hear to argue - but couldn't give a sh** what other fans think .... he is a gashhead like you and i (like you and i he was hugging DC as we got promoted ). He left rovers to play a higher standard both times - it happens. Rovers was his first job as a manger be interested to see how an experienced Olly would manage us and his passion for the team he supports. UTG mate and no matter what lets hope the club can move forward

Ian Holloway, Gas legend, best midfielder rovers have had in the past 50 years, temporary manager until the end of the season. There are currently no real ******* Gasheads either running or owning the club, lets have at least one of our own managing, what is after all our club, not theirs. Unfortunately I don't believe the Holloway is one either. He's been asked live on television before about his support for Rovers where he replied "I support Bristol Football" (He was angling to the City job at the time). He only ever attends when he's paid by someone to attend. For me a Rovers fan doesn't say when at Plymouth "cut me and I bleed green" - 2 weeks later he moves to Leicester. A real Gashead only bleeds blue (and white). What would any manager say ? Jesus, Imagine being in Plymouth and saying nah just here for the cash, hope we go up and I get my bonus and im Bristol Rovers till i die. If DC had said anything like that.. Well Matty Taylor did something similar and had to move house. Holloway is a PRO manager. He lives in Bristol.... City have idiots as fans (no jobs) ha... what would you say and do if was you and your family ?? We could pick the Dam bones out of anything hahaha

Think it will definitely be Goughlan cannot see our owners bringing in any of the managers mentioned they would probably command too much in wages etc, so i can see him being at least Caretaker until end of season.

Gutted DC has gone. Have been following this thread and our thoughts seem to vary over appointing a young hungry manager OR an experienced one to see us try and stay up, re assessing In the summer?
Personally I would consider Holloway simply as he knows the club and might get the respect of the players. He might be able to get a couple of QPR forwards on loan. My boss says they are looking to Loan out a couple.
Put Mansell alongside him and have a plan for him taking over at some point.
I just feel we really need to stop the atmosphere turning really toxic, which Holloway might be able to stop. In any case, big big decision for the owners. Get this wrong and the club we all love could spiral.

Sadly though I think the spiralling has already begun, and with the disingenuous Muppets at the top in charge, I can only see it accelerating further into decline now that DC has gone.

Football all about the fans and opinions, Holloway is not stupid... But doesnt matter - he is a standard above us, we cant afford him and like DC he wont take the sh** from the board so that alone makes it all a moo point

Anyone mentioned Martin Allen? I think he's spoken well of Rovers support. Came very close to saving Barnet last season,. As a fire fighter, could just keep the Gas up.
