right ,with all these names being banded about shall we put it to the vote, just for fun, if one of you clever geeks out there can set it up, listing all the potentials mentioned on here and let the rest of us vote for our top 3 choices, i now it wont make any difference to the final decision but it may give us a clear fav, oft you go then clever one! gasheads.proboards.com/thread/13511/new-manager-pollI didn't go through this thread, I just listed anyone I found who was 33-1 or lower on some random site (and Graham Coughlan who wasn't on the list I found). Your name will also go on the list. What is it?

Personally feel we need someone with experience of being in a relegation dogfight. Paul Hurst would my choice but wouldn't be disappointed if we recruited within given the basket case we are under current ownership. Ultimately its going to be players that get us out of this so a manager that already knows the market and has the contacts to ship in and out required players.

Michael Flynn took the Newport job wen they was basically down, and he completely turned it around to keep them up. now there in the play offs. Also they have had great runs in fa cup think he would do a great job

Please no , not Waddock Cotterill or Flynn. Who then? Just interested in your opinion. I’d like to see someone who would excite and bring the crowds back and bring a buzz, but as a club we have very little to offer, Craig Bellamy maybe?

Most of the sqaud probably won't have a clue who he is if he gets the job.

Please no , not Waddock Cotterill or Flynn. Its easy to say who you don't want but who do you want? Craig Bellamy, who are you supporting as it’s so easy to say who you don’t want? No I don’t want Waddock, Cotterill or Flynn who’s team shipped six against Yeovil this season.

The whole point of football is to get the ball in the net. If I’m the new manager, anyone who has not performed consistently well is fckin Gone.

We’re literally fckd Whoever’s in charge, if there’s no money. We have to get somebody in who can do a goal. It’s as simple as that. We need Lambo to do a Rambo.

I don't think Ollie will get the job after giving the owners an ear bashing ,it would be like having DC back again for the AQ's. I think Mark Warbuton or Steve Cotterill would be the to most qualified. I know Cotterill was a sh**head but so was Marcus Stewart he supported them and even played for them for a time, but no one complained when he was banging the goals in for us. I think people have to put the club first before emotions and get behind whoever the new manager is. Hopefully things will be sorted by next Saturday as it is important we go into the Christmas period with a win behind us.

If the club choose a better known manager i would be happy with cotterill.

I watched flynn play for newport county under-23 v rovers at cribbs and he was lashing out at varios young newport players during the game,it was verging on bullying and i didnt like it at all. He has done well at newport but that match really put me off him.

I feel this is like the transfer speculation every window. Linked to lots of players we can’t possibly afford.

But i doubt anyone else would like it.

If we go for Waddock, then you have to assume we will be paying Regardless of whether he is the right or wrong choice it would at least say the club are not just going for the cheapest or easiest option

If we go for Waddock, then you have to assume we will be paying Regardless of whether he is the right or wrong choice it would at least say the club are not just going for the cheapest or easiest option If you look at the candidates he would be the cheapest option for a reasonable amount of managerial experience. He has 6 months on his contract which is a small wage as Aldershot can’t afford to pay any more. He’d take a lower offer than Flynn or Hurst or Cotterill as he wants to get back into the FL. The only option cheaper is to have someone with very little experience, who i don’t think i’d trust to get us out of the relegation zone, or stick with Coughlan but I just don’t see that happening as he is currently occupying the manager, assistant manager and defensive coach roles.

I also wouldn’t mind if he ended up getting it. He plays good football, on the floor quick passing. Attractive football. He knows talent when he sees it and can get the best of of players - look at Bernard Mensah when he was under his charge. Played in the conference but looked every bit a League one/two player. His contacts are pretty impressive looking at the loan deals he’s pulled off to keep Aldershot afloat. He pushed Aldershot to challenge for the playoffs for 2 years whilst having £0 transfer budget and numerous injury crises’ (though none as bad as current, which i believe is the reason they aren’t in the top half of that table atm) He already knows what the club’s about - he played here. He already knows what the fans like to see. From what i’ve heard he’s an excellent man manager, which is what we need as we have many different egos and personalities in that changing room that all need different coaching styles. I just think he fits. He fits our style, he fits the ethos, he can do a lot with a little. I would like to see how he does here.
