What do you like about Waddock? I also wouldn’t mind if he ended up getting it. He plays good football, on the floor quick passing. Attractive football. He knows talent when he sees it and can get the best of of players - look at Bernard Mensah when he was under his charge. Played in the conference but looked every bit a League one/two player. His contacts are pretty impressive looking at the loan deals he’s pulled off to keep Aldershot afloat. He pushed Aldershot to challenge for the playoffs for 2 years whilst having £0 transfer budget and numerous injury crises’ (though none as bad as current, which i believe is the reason they aren’t in the top half of that table atm) He already knows what the club’s about - he played here. He already knows what the fans like to see. From what i’ve heard he’s an excellent man manager, which is what we need as we have many different egos and personalities in that changing room that all need different coaching styles. I just think he fits. He fits our style, he fits the ethos, he can do a lot with a little. I would like to see how he does here. are you his agent? lol

He is a lot better than some on the list, Danny Murphy would be my number one target if interested, he talks total sense and we would play attractive football, great contacts too.

No but i hate to see a manager that i’ve actually got some knowledge of get slated because people don’t really know what he’s about. Some on here didn’t think he even had FL experience. So it’s a case of, if he does get the job the fans will be on his back from day one as a ‘disappointment’ and that’s what i’ve seen on this forum. I think it’s totally wrong because he is a very decent manager. Simple as that.

I like the idea of Danny Murphy too. Just think he’d be expensive to bring in unless he really really wanted it and money wasn’t a factor. Plus he’d probably want to bring in a whole new load of backroom staff. Wouldn’t be cheap enough for the al qadis haha

I agree with you, some people would just say non-league and ignore or not even bother to find out anything.
He has a Rovers connection though, which is generally a plus point amongst some regardless of record.
Waddock would be far from the worst shout and I would take him over Cotterill or Ollie any day

He is great to listen to on talk sport and would raise our profile.

Darrell Clarke is a far better manager than Gary Waddock IMHO. Appointing him as DC's replacement would be a very underwhelming decision to me.

He’s done well at times in management and I certainly wouldn’t be against him coming.

Yes he’s mad. Yes he’s past it. Yes it could end in disaster. However I’d go for Ollie until the end of the season. He knows the club inside out and what it means to be gas and his passion is what we need right now we’ve lost Darrell It won’t happen though because he’s done a Darrell without stepping a foot inside the door He used to know the club, it has changed whilst he has been bleeding Green blood, blue blood, tangerine blood, blue and white blood and so on. He has become a joke, and not a funny one

I do hope so. Getting rid of Clarke for someone like Waddock makes no sense to me at all. Even their local journo in that article says: "The other thing you've got to ask yourself is why would Bristol Rovers in League One come knocking at the door for someone who's managing a National League team in a relegation fight?"

Wrexham’s old manager said the same the day before going to Shrewsbury... but who am I kidding it was a long shot after all. But i’d have liked it to happen though.

Where are all the ITK’s on this thread? Surely their sources must be spilling the beans by now......🤔 Or does it only work for (alleged) takeovers?
