Whoever gets the job there will be a thread on here saying the club made a terrible choice.

Cotterill was at Ashton Gate on Saturday, apparently. Presumably, if he really wanted the job, he would have gone somewhere like Oxford or Fleetwood instead.

Steve evans - hated - winner Neil warnock - hated - winner Steve cotterill = to dc for promotions i believe so clearly a winner. Its all about staying up right now and we could do a lot worse than cotterill in my view. You chosen two people who are....disliked. But I don’t dislike either of them for being winners, winning doesn’t come into it. I dislike Warnock because even after we had beaten his team Notts Co in 89/90 he said his team were better and should have been champions. The season was 46 games long the team finishing top usually deserves it. I dislike him because he was a bad loser, not for the winning. Steve Evans has won a few promotions but again I dislike him not because he’s a winner but because of his cheating, proved in a court of law, that saw Boston promoted at the expense of D/R back in time. He cheated, made illegal payments. Also back in 2013 I stood on the East Enclosure and listened to him and Rayner give the 4th official pure abuse when they won 2-0. John Ward just stood there and shook his head in amazement. The guy is an excuse as a human being imo. BB, the hatred people feel has nothing to do with them winning imo, its the manner and their behaviour towards others that makes people hate them. Both have mellowed but when push comes to shove they are the same now as they were then. Youcould have said: Eddie Howe. Liked. Winner Pep Guardiola. Liked. Winner Nigel Clough. Liked. Winner (Just my opinion!) UTG!

Cotterill would be a good appointment on paper.
Obviously Football isn't played on paper though.
Won this league at a canter just a few short years ago.
Won it with players like Flint, Marlon Pack, Luke Freeman, Luke Ayling, Mark Little, Corey Smith, Wade Eliot and Aaron Wilbraham who cost less than Nichols, Sercombe, Partington, Mensah, Tony Craig, Upson and Stefan Payne in transfers.
If he could get players of that standard here, no brainer.

Winner (Just my opinion!) UTG! When guardiola loses he turns nasty imo but yes there are people that are winners that come across well despite things going wrong like howe or ancellotti. But i maintain plenty of people prefer the valiant loser like bobby robson to the unrepentant winner and bad loser like alex ferguson or neil warnock. I believe a manager should be appointed on merit and if the club believe steve cotterill is the best candidate they should appoint him.
