We haven't been able to score all season. Why didn't we have targets lined up on January 1st? No money I guess. This is where Coughlan disappoints me a bit because it sounds like he is happy to work under conditions that DC wasn't impressed with. We're always trying to take the cheap option and everyone involved from the coaching upwards probably thought there was no urgency after winning 3 on the spin.

So what did you expect him to do? Turn down his first ever managerial role unless he got the budget he demanded?

Cannot understand why we are not up for it today. Has the new manager bounce worn off? Should have used the subs a good 10 minutes earlier. No prospect of considering Broadbent up front anymore.

and Rochdale equalised. All going Pete Tong. Everyone could see we need a proper striker, perhaps a winger, and an organising and imposing centre half. What does our Director of Recruitment do?

We are fecking awful. Everyone knows that we need a striker desperately. It is now Jan 19th and no sign of anyone coming in. No disrespect to GC but the reality js that he is a rookie manager, and we are in a desperate position.

I still think it was a mistake to let Broadbent go. He would have given a better account of himself than many of our players on the pitch today

DC literally came out and said the board wanted to make cuts and that we wouldn't be able to make any signings unless we sold and people seem to think that the cheap, inexperienced manager that the board appointed would have been given funds

He's obviously not going to turn it down- but he has to be a dream appointment, probably cheap wages as he has no experience and very vocal about how he doesn't an issue with the same things DC did. So the board are under no pressure at all to back the manager because the manager is just happy to have a managerial job so he will try and make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. After a bit of a bounce he is starting to see just how difficult the job is going to be.
