I'm more sad about all our signings having a link to Coventry- we dodged a bullet with Bakayoko. All our staff are from Plymouth and all our players have been touched by the hand of Cov. It's so lazy and uninspiring- budget signings from a budget manager and HoR presided over by a budget President. This is the best they could do in 31 days. Have a think about that. Nail. Head.

Don’t get why we moved Bennett out, wouldn’t have cared if we also signed a winger but Bennett was better than nothing ffs

If he doesn't seem to have his feet nailed to the ground and a bag of cement in his shorts then he should be an improvement on the sham footballer that was Payne. Hopefully Shrewsbury will cancel the remaining payments for that colossal waste of space and keep him for good. One of the worst signings we've ever made, and that includes the disaster areas that were Mickey Evans, that useless Scotsman whose name I can't remember and even, involuntary shudder, Alvin Bubb! Is the Scotsman Martin Cameron? Yes he was awful, had a great scoring record up in Scotland before joining us, then for us was utter pants. Derek Riordan?

Firstly good luck to the lad, he will need it. Secondly, I wonder what number he was on our wanted list? IMHO probably not even on it! The whole thing stinks, a cheap desperation signing as far as I am concerned. No coincidence for obvious reasons, both signings today came from Coventry, good business for them. They have managed to dump two unwanted players on us. A loyal totally underwhelmed Gashead, Wael you should be ashamed, you are a cheapskate owner and I am very sad you have now proved to me what others have been saying for ages. You may be right that he wasn't top of the list but the main targets may have stayed put. GC was determined to get a proper target man and he's done it. GC has done really well since he's come in and I think JCH will give us the extra power we need (home games) that can turn these draws into wins. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Here is my take.
We should have beaten Peterborough on Tuesday night. In the first half we were on the front foot and caused Peterborough problems. The second half we sat deeper and deeper as the game went on.
My thinking is that bringing in Ogogo and Clark Harris, gives us another tackling midfielder to protect the defence allowing Sercombe to play a little higher up the pitch so the distance between midfield and the strikers doesn't become too big. If he can hold the ball up and link up with the oncoming Sercombe, I think opposition will think twice about pushing up and we are likely to sit less deep.

If Coughlan wanted a big lad I'd have been on the phone to Gillingham today about Eaves. Out of contract in the summer. 200k+ bid on the last day of the window to test their resolve. Mind you I guess we haven't got the money until the supporters club can release the millions that Hani is dying to invest. Any club in Gillingham's position who let their (genuinely) star striker leave for £200k would be utterly mad. Doesn't matter that he's OOC in the summer - survival is worth well over £200k.

I don’t understand all the negativity now. An hour ago I did. But we’ve signed what we’ve been crying out for. A target man who can score a few goals, granted his scoring record doesn’t scream 20 goals a season at this level but it says he’s capable of 10-15.
I’ve actually got a really good feeling about this lad and think him and TN will compliment eachother very well.

You have to wonder why it took us 31 days to sign....Johnson Clarke-Harris. Why would a deal for such a seemingly hum-drum player go right to the wire? Trying to get other targets signed up first? As last minute deadline day deals go it certainly isn't reminiscent of Berbatov signing for United.

Terrible attitude at times too I've heard.

A quote from cov motty. " He's strong and powerful but just doesn't score many goals as hes more of a target man". Somebody for jak/reilly/tm to play off.

I know the player compilation videos can make people look somewhat better than they are but I think this guy could do job for us. Seems to possess some key skills and I think he will do the business. Got to be better than Payne!
Welcome on board Jonson.

Looks like a decent handful, though everyone looks better on YouTube. Will reserve judgment until I've seen him play a few times (and it's officially confirmed lol).

Terrible attitude at times too I've heard. Yes but half of them appearances were probably before he even hit the age of 21. At the age of 24 he’s probably only just coming into his prime (if he’s even at that stage yet), and his goal scoring record this season is better than that. I’d say he’s a gamble, but one I have a good feeling about.

Fair point, for context then we let Bodin go for 400k early doors. Puts into perspective how other clubs do business! They have obviously decided to hold on to their asset and assist survival, our owners can't wait to risk our future - as this window shows.
