Thought Locks and Craig looked solid, I can't recall THD doing anything of note TBH.
The ref's only ref'd 4 previous games at this level so was out of his depth, although I guess they all have to start somewhere.

He was more effective today when holmes-dennis appeared to push further forward and sercombe seemed to more central. We went 5-3-2/3-5-2 at half time to match Shrewsbury formation. Today proved Sercs can't play left wing, which is a concern as we don't seem to have anyone else who can on the wing. We didn't change formation at HT, after Ogogo was fortunate not to be sent off in the 2nd half he swapped positions with Sercombe (I assume to reduce the risk of him being sent off).

Amongst the negativity... I thought Johnson CH was exactly what we have been looking for, some great first touches, holding up balls that stefan Payne would have lost. I'm more hopeful now than I was before today's match. Lines seems to have lost it and Partington is def not a right back, needs to be right side midfield or not at all. Felt sorry for reilly and tn as they had zero service and was surprised we didn't change the midfield instead of strikers. Id like to see Johnson CH and Nicholls start.

I was hoping he’d start instead of Reilly but I was very impressed with Harris , win most of his headers and directed most of those to a Rovers shirt And his hold up play was also decent. I think the Nichols Reilly partnership is more suited to away games and maybe we should be looking at Jak and Harris for the home games perhaps. Shrewsbury were a horrible side but I was impressed with the way they pressed us high up the pitch and made us hit it long it was very frustrating for us. Did Cogs know they were going to play like that ? If he did then starting Harris would have been the obvious starter so perhaps they took us by surprise.

Partington right midfield...seriously, you have to be joking? I'm not sure he has even played there before, but even if he has, his lack of pace and technique means it would be a big no no from me. Coughlan needs to get James Clarke in at right back ahead of him asap. Absolutely dreadful first half today, although an improvement in the second half when Jak and JCH came on. We didn't create enough to win the game and still lack a bit of quality and nous on the left wing. Ogogo poor today, Lines poor and not in the game, missed Ollie C, Sercs better centrally and Lockyer distribution wayward AGAIN. A game we should be winning, but lacked the quality to open them up enough to get the 3 points. MOTM Shrews no. 6 Beckles.

Poor performance overall but an even worse one from an atrocious referee. I would love to know why Ollie Norburn didn't get sent off. Another ref could have easily sent off 4 players today. Shrewsbury wanted an ugly game, and a ref like that let them get away with it. Nobody stood out today. THD probably our best player from memory. Partington was awful, did he do anything right today? Lines has had it, should be released. Nichols and Reilly disappointing but service up to them was poor. Missed Ollie Clarke today. At least other results went quite well for us so a point wasn't the end of the world, although 2 points less than I was expecting us to get at the start of the today. Agree with this. We were poor but I think that was probably down to the Shrews game plan working. They were a horrible side weren't they? Constantly time wasting and playing to the refs whistle, being very inexperienced he fell for it hook line and sinker! Tbh I am absolutely fed up to the back teeth with the sh*t standard of officiating in this division, perhaps it's me being biased but we really do seem to get the rough end of the deal most of the time. After 10/15 mins today it was obvious we were a much weaker side and lacking any physical presence being out muscled all over the park. Whilst I am generally supportive of GC's "you keep the jersey if we play well" approach I think there was a case to be made today for bringing on JCH after 20 mins as it was clear they had the better of us. We were unable to win any first or second balls and kept losing the ball in midfield. It seems to me that when we play a team who wants to play football (usually a side up the top end of the table) we are able to get our game going and perform quite well. Whereas when we play those at the bottom it ends up being a scrap so i think GC should have made a change earlier rather than wait until we are into the 2nd half.

Yeah I said after 20 minutes this isn’t working they’re making us hit it long sub Nichols and Reilly get the two bigger strikers on. Was surprised he didn’t do it sooner, not even at half time. Soon as he did it changed the game. Two points lost.

He’s got a sweet right foot but not strong enough for a big lad , no pace, injury prone and can’t defend. James Clarke is much better.

I don’t th8nk I will be. Might go to a few home and a few away games and do a few other things of a weekend. Have to love the loyalty... how about not playing yourself and wasting a potential career in order to continue watching the gas! That enough loyalty for you? 😜

The 2nd half cheered me up a bit because it was exciting and we battled hard. In the 1st half shrewsbury pressed hard and beat us up frankly. Rodman and holmes-dennis showed some quality at times and clarke-harris impressed imo as did jakubiac.

He hasn’t cut it since he’s been injured. We definitely need Clarke there at this moment in time, doesn’t put a foot out of line and we look a lot more solid defensivly with him in my opinion.

Still glad I stayed at home to decorate Think I'd have preferred to have the decorators in, rather than watch the dross served up today.

Have to love the loyalty... Do you think you could be confusing loyalty with blind loyalty? Define loyalty and then define blind loyalty ? I’m genuinely interested in what you mean.
