Bit of a Marmite character but gets results at our level and prob would have been ok for us, wish him a speedy recovery , further confirmation that this thing is for real and should not be taken lightly Cotterill would have been my 2nd choice (after Nigel Clough, if we'd acted sooner) but have seen on Facebook from someone that knows him he wouldn't come here anyway due to his City connections? (may well be BS though) Me too, interesting that he wouldn’t come here due to his connections and I like that and applaud it as loyalty and moral standing are rare in football. I’d love to think that DC would never manage City if it was the last job on Earth.

I’d love to think that DC would never manage City if it was the last job on Earth. I sincerely doubt that. Holloway probably. DC I actually wouldn’t blame him. They are a fairly together club these days and that would be a massive opportunity (they would never want him) The fact there’s several years in between makes a difference. I think if he left us to join them, that’s where the turncoatism starts. Other players who went elsewhere and then to city I didn’t blame - like Beadle. Beadle didn’t scrub his memories like Taylor did, the backstabbing little jerk. I can’t really even watch highlights of all those years because our star man has soured those years. Saying that, if DC was ever in the position to manage city in current context, it would be likely because he did amazingly with Walsall or someone else and likely could take another championship job. I expect he would err against it, given he remember how wounded we were over Taylor and he would go from always having men willing to buy him pints in Bristol to being reviled....you can’t want that. Let’s not forget he turned Leeds down to stay here.
