The money that`s raised by comic relief, isn`t wanted? Is it? Well, I don`t know. That`s why I`m asking you. Is the whole Comic Relief jamboree a waste of time? And charity as a whole? My wife and I have standing orders with Oxfam and Water Aid ( only modest amounts, we`re not talking the "Bill Gates Foundation" here ) but are we just wasting our money?

It's your money and for you to judge, not me. Anyway the question was, was it wanted, not was it wasted. The original reference was to celebs in Africa doing their "hug a poor person" photo ops. Do you think the recipient in say, Africa, or perhaps more controversially, for you, a refugee camp somewhere in the Middle East would prefer the charity or something more substantive, like eliminating the causal factors. Like, for example invading Iraq, or, in the case of South America, undermining their governments when we don't like their economic policies? fighting homelessness, giving psychological support to asylum seekers, setting up schools in third world countries. Cant really argue with that can you?

Ok, so you don`t know whether the money`s wanted, and nor do I. I guess, short of personally asking the potential recipients of the money that CR raised, we won`t know. They probably would like something more substantive than charity, but knowing human beings the world over, they`re unlikely to get it. Perhaps that money`s, as good as it`s going to get for them.

On a scale of 1-10 for being corrupt, aren't some of the countries this money is going to run by governments who score a solid 10? Just, you know, when you talk about causal factors...

Ok. What you don't know is that I decided to get off my ass, stop wallowing in self pity and come out of retirement. I now work for Oxfam. My first ever not for profit role in my life. It's going to interesting. Well done so your morals thought it was good to work for free for a discredited charity whose workers on the front line pay for sex.

Nothing to do with me why you would choose to give your time to a discredited charity especially when you agreed with loony left MP Lammy that Africans don't need charity from white folks.......

Where has Oldies post gone about him now working for Oxfam?
I must admit the irony in that is actually another level.

Sat here, watering myself laughing. I should have taken up another career back in the day. Looking at the pathetically obsessive posts about me personally, it's clear a career in "Care in the Community" for people presenting with Brain Atrophy passed me by. But then I would have missed real time exposure to Islamic Culture, a decade in the American South and a rip roaring 25 years in the City. I guess I could have stayed in Bristol. 🤣🤣🤣 Anyway, another day at Oxfam tomorrow...should be good. Look out for me on the posters.... Cue meltdown.

18 stabbed to death in London so far this year....isn't diversity wonderful. Is it David Lammy's fault?

I was just musing that you are a hypocrite for working for Oxfam because some people who also work for them have been engaging in sex crimes yet the virtues of the Stephen Yaxley-Lennon have been sung on here despite the crimes of Gillett. Nowt so queer as folk I suppose.

He'll be blaming white people. Jaggas is blaming diversity, who is that aimed at? Sorry should have been clearer - meant Racist Lammy. He clearly doesn't like 'white people' after his rant about comic relief. I'm sure he'll find a way of blaming white people for the deaths of so many young black kids.

I know, I meant why did Jaggas bring it up in a debate about David Lammy and his views on a celebrity's trip for Red Nose Day? It had little if no relevance. If Lammy is crass for his comments, shouldn't that also apply here too?

As for crass comments LAMMY started it! Not sure Gaschat is a place for moral high ground.
