Southend v Shrewsbury on Saturday, neither side can afford to lose that one. particularly with 4 other teams (Scunny v Rochdale & Oxford v Wycombe) around the bottom playing each other so potentially 2 of them picking up 3 pts.

Not if they appoint DC. He needs at least half a season to get things rolling

DC can join in the summer, not now though please.
Southend are a good club, DC would do well there. They generally give their managers a good chance
Rumours are Steve Evans could be joining

DC is going to be very tired if he takes all these jobs, as soon as someone gets sacked DC is named.

Not much evidence he could turn things around at this level. Hurst on the other hand...

I think Southend are a club that were below DC a year ago,but after this season they are the type of club that should interest him. They dont have as much potential as us but still have some and could support a championship club if they got going. They like us need a new ground tho. If I was DC then I would wait for this job or another until the summer as this could wreck his name if thing went wrong and they went down under him.

Until Hurst gets a job I would have thought he will be the favourite each time a manager’s job comes up in league 1. I don’t think he’s as good a manager as DC but others may well do. UTG!

At this level he's shown he can build a team on very limited resources and compete. His job at Shrewsbury was outstanding, having taken over a team in a relegation battle. For that reason Hurst would surely have a big edge over DC for a role at a L1 struggler.
