Just as a side note - if we stay up are we going to be fighting against relegation ongoing now? I can’t see wael investing enough in the squad and the sides coming down seem to have more money and are bigger clubs than ever before! Part of me wonders if we might be better off in league 2? At the same time as wanting the best for the club I really haven’t enjoyed the last 18 months of “entertainment” and wonder if we’d fly again in league 2! I get the feeling but we need to play as high as possible. I bet a couple of the teams in this years relegation fight will be playing for the play offs next season. With the right recruitment of 3/4 better players there’s no reason it can’t be us! We could uncover a few gems. But then again I am an optimist.😉 UTG! Yes,and those gems can still be found in non league, two of Pompey's stars today were in non league not so long ago i believe, we used to be very good in finding them

Coventry - Lose Bradford - Draw Wimbledon - Lose Rochdale - Draw Fleetwood - Lose Barnsley - Draw Nice selection, but the 3 points in the poll is empty of votes! Fixed that for you

Unfortunately you only have to look at how many teams have over taken us in terms of facilities over the last 10/20 years and that will only increase. 20 years ago you could still easily get into the championship with a rubbish ground, now we are bottom four of league one in terms of facilities and would be bottom half of league two. Personally I can see us being in regular relegation battles, until eventually, we slip back into league two. Unfortunately, until we get a new stadium/training facilities I think that is our level right now.

Which is why any talk of what is needed to make us challenge at the top of this division is ludicrous. We are strong League 2, weak League 1. Forget what we were 30 years ago. Time has moved on. This is what we are now.

Of course teams have overtaken us and we do need what you say etc. But that will not stop us having a good season and getting the players we need for a good season. It may well stop us retaining them and building on from a good season but 3/4 better players will see us compete next year if we survive. Our crap facilities will stop us sustaining progress and building even better but they won’t stop us having a good season given good recruitment. UTG!

Yes with the right recruitment we can be at the right end of the table, but how much harder is it to get those players when they would rather go to clubs with better facilities? We often end up signing our 4th/5th choice players in positions after the others choose to go elsewhere. JCH was a rare signing where we got lucky. We need a few more of these!

How have Luton managed it this season, when they play in a cr@p stadium in a cra@p town? With momentum and an exceptional manager. A bit like us until it went wrong this season. Wareham is right, you can have a good season but cannot sustain it without facilities and money. Only a really good manager enables you to break the cycle, but even then only for a limited time. Luton may have timed their rise perfectly with their new stadium on the horizon. Perhaps we would have done something similar a year or two back? We'll never know.

I’ll go for 8 points.
Coventry (a)- Draw Bradford (h) - Win Wimbledon (a)- Lose Rochdale (h) - Draw Fleetwood (a) - Win Barnsley (h)- Lose
Just because of the season has been so far, I think our home form will be mixed but hopefully we can manage to get a win against either Bradford or Rochdale and I think we’ll unexpectedly sneak 3 points away at somewhere like Fleetwood. 53 should be enough to stay up considering the quantity of teams in the race for survival.

I've went for eight points originally but I've changed my mind and gone for ten now: Coventry (A) - loss Bradford (H) - win Wimbledon (A) - win Rochdale (H) - win Fleetwood (A) - draw Barnsley (H) - loss We might be crap at home but Rochdale and Bradford are both AWFUL away from home. We're eighth in the league for away record and Wimbledon are bottom of the pack at home (we're 23rd, mind) so I'm upping that from a draw to a win. Either way, I think we're but all-but-safe after the Wimbledon if my predictions come true!

Yes we do need more of the same. I’m sure facilities come into it but pay them more and they will come. The trouble with that is we will sometimes get players with the wrong motivation but players go where the money is, always have done and always will. Not quibbling Qatar, your point is correct about what we need as a club but it doesn’t have to limit us in the short term imo. UTG!

I’d certainly like to think we’d beat both Bradford and Rochdale at home but we never make it easy for ourselves. Rochdale in particular will be tough because they will be determined and organised so we will have to see more performances like the one against Blackpool to get the points. I actually think AFC Wimbledon away is the hardest fixture we have left out of all of them, they are a different beast under Wally Downes and I’d imagine they will be well up for game at home against a fellow struggler. 10-12 points certainly isn’t beyond the realms of possibility if we end the season strongly but at this point I’d take 6,7 or 8 if it ultimately meant survival.

6 points. Wimbledon and Rochdale. You reckon we'll lose at home to Bradford?! Bradford City have NEVER beaten us on our own ground, Eastville, Twerton or Mem. There's nothing to make me think that tradition will change this season. What a fall from grace, they're doomed.
