Morning all just wanted to do a poll of predicted points from the last 6 games
The games are
Cov away Bradford home Wimbledon away Rochdale home Fleetwood away Barnsley home
So from zero to 18!
Now I think if we get back to our best we can win away at cov. I do worry about our home form as over the season we’ve been awful. Can we cope with the pressure against Bradford and Rochdale? Surely Barnsley see the game as a banker! Wimbledon have turned the corner completely and playing them away won’t be easy as for fleetwood they will want revenge after the home tie! It’s not going to be easy and let’s hope the last two results haven’t knocked confidence too much! What we saying gasheads?
P.s I couldn’t be arsed to work out which totals are not possible so added the lot!

I'm a bit of a pessimist so I'm going to say 4 points but having just done the Fishy Predictor I'm pleased to see that might still keep us up. Just!
1 Luton 46 +50 100 2 Sunderland 46 +44 98 3 Barnsley 46 +43 93 4 Portsmouth 46 +34 90 5 Charlton 46 +23 83 6 Doncaster 46 +24 79 7 Fleetwood Town 46 +11 64 8 Coventry 46 -1 64 9 Blackpool 46 -1 62 10 Peterborough 46 -1 61 11 Burton Albion 46 +5 59 12 Plymouth 46 -10 56 13 Shrewsbury 46 -8 55 14 Gillingham 46 -11 53 15 Oxford Utd 46 -11 53 16 AFC Wimbledon 46 -18 51 17 Walsall 46 -18 51 18 Wycombe 46 -13 50 19 Bristol Rovers 46 -11 49 20 Accrington 46 -23 49 21 Scunthorpe 46 -23 49 22 Rochdale 46 -33 49 23 Southend 46 -15 47 24 Bradford 46 -33 38

I’ve gone for a pessimistic 6 points. One win and three draws.
But I think that will enough looking at the prediction thing.

Six points could be enough. Although would rather we get at least seven. Bradford could be all but down by the time we play them.
Wycombe and Accrington could go above us with their games in hand and Rochdale level on points with theirs. Southend are in the worst form but they still have to play Wycombe, Walsall and Rochdale!
Get seven points from the Bradford, Rochdale and Wimbledon games increasing our distance from them will be enough.

The FiveThirtyEight website predicts us finishing 14th, with 54 points and five above relegation. 6% chance of relegation, although it certainly seems a lot higher than that to most of us I guess? Probably we tend to forget that so many of the other candidates have to play each other, which means that getting to 50 points should be enough. www.FiveThirtyEight.com/soccer-predictions (it's an American site so we'll overlook the "soccer").

I said 7 points...
Two wins home: Bradford. Rochdale.
One draw away: Cov.
Lose the rest.
I think that will be enough, but overall what a so, so disappointing season that offered changes and it wasn't taken until absolutely necessary.
A wasted opportunity of a season, but if we stay up; will be relieved.
Mixed emotions.

Just as a side note - if we stay up are we going to be fighting against relegation ongoing now? I can’t see wael investing enough in the squad and the sides coming down seem to have more money and are bigger clubs than ever before! Part of me wonders if we might be better off in league 2? At the same time as wanting the best for the club I really haven’t enjoyed the last 18 months of “entertainment” and wonder if we’d fly again in league 2!

Each to their own of course but I’d rather not have to visit places like Crawley, Morcambe, Stevenage & Colchester again for as long as we are a Football League club. Even if we are winning 3-0 every week.

Seven for me ,enough to survive, the 7 may not come in the obvious games, Rochdale are still fighting and will be level with us if win game in hand and The Dons is not the banker it may have looked a couple of months ago, but we will get them somewhere!!

Seven for me too.
Wins against Bradford and Rochdale and a point at Fleetwood. Three defeats against Coventry, Wimbledon and Barnsley.
However they come, seven should be enough as that means teams currently in the bottom 4 getting 10 points from their last six games, which is a tall order. The security of having others worse off than us in the pack above the line also helps.

Coventry - Lose Bradford - Draw Wimbledon - Lose Rochdale - Draw Fleetwood - Lose Barnsley - Draw If we draw with Barnsley it'll be the first point we've taken off a top 3 side this season, I can't see that happening if Barnsley still need the points to finish second. It's great how fans think we're certain to beat Bradford and Rochdale, given we've only won 4 times at home all season and not winning any consecutive home games. All we can really do is take one game at a time and hope we pick up the 5 or 6 pts we need and that the likes of Walsall don't suddenly start winning.

I get the feeling but we need to play as high as possible. I bet a couple of the teams in this years relegation fight will be playing for the play offs next season. With the right recruitment of 3/4 better players there’s no reason it can’t be us! We could uncover a few gems. But then again I am an optimist.😉 UTG!
