Thanks mate. I just don't understand the apparent embarrassment of our time in Bath. Many of us had some of the best times I can remember at fortress Twerton and it embodied the tangible spirit of who we are. We have been true ROVERS, moving from place to place but yet we managed to retain our soul. It's a tragedy that our guardians feel apparent embarrassment of that period and also now about the Mem. ...Oh for Ragbag Rovers and a chilly night in Bath right now. To watch the opposition physically squirm when they came out I to the pitch and into the storm of our fans. How I would live that right now. yeah. simple isn;t it. has anyone just sat down and analysed what made us successful there and tried to recreate it? or are we just coasting/ bumbling along? I appreciate we can;t exactly recreate a manager like Gerry, a ground like Twerton or some of the signings that Gerry, Martin Dobson, Wardy etc pulled off, but surely e could look at that period and do our best to take the positives out of it. Everyone bangs on about how hard it is to get hungry players to come to Bristol (as if we live on the moon!) but how on earth did we manage to attract so many good players there then? it certainly wasn't the training facilities or the wages!

People liked us ! We were the archetypal underdog and we had sympathy and empathy to our cause. I feel that we have lost all of that now, I feel our current board have to take the responsibility for that. Gagging clauses, undisclosed fees, secrecy, banning fans and looking every bit like a junta. Given the above I am not at all surprised players and staff baulk at the thought of coming to us. I hate to say it but we are not well liked now and I can only lay that at our current guardians. I keep saying guardians as that is what they are but a couple if them have made clear they " will take us to the grave" some of the comments made have been extremely ill conceived to say the least. To then cry foul when picked up on those comments does not paint a very good picture of who we are and where we stand.

Is that their grave or the death of the club?
Whichever comes first I suppose.

Is that their grave or the death of the club? Whichever comes first I suppose. I think you're right. If you were a totally unbiased spectator who was asked to do a top to bottom review and then present your findings, it would show precisely where we have erred. This is the reason out guardians will not engage in such a review. Whether you are pro or anti board, the facts are just that. Until we have the brutal truth accepted I believe we are destined to repeat the very same mistakes. Of course this is just my opinion and could be wrong, I accept that. I know the fans I grew up with would be forgiving if we had that level of honesty. What do our guardians have to fear ? I despair when people, adults especially, would rather hide behind the lies and half truths.
