At last its safe to be able to go to the toilet again and not worry about what might be ..................lol Next week should be interesting as Barnsley still have a chance to win the title, goal difference of 4 to make up on Luton, who are home to Oxford. Main thing is we are safe and can now relax, well done GC, now lets hope he can get some players to join in the summer in time for pre-season, and not rely on last minute castoffs from other clubs Going to be a good game next week. Barnsley will be going all out for the win and pouring men forward, which in turn will give us loads of space on the counter. I can honestly see us causing them problems. UTG. It will be nice to see us play with a bit more attacking intent. GC has focused mainly on keeping it out at one end but with us having nothing to play for it would be good to go for it. I want to see what Leon Moore has to offer.

Coughlan deserves a lot of credit as do the core of players that he regularly selected. He watched certain players not turning up for the last manager and he made sure those players didn't do for him as well. He either shipped them out of the club or simply left them out. Its been ugly but he has earned his shot at producing a better rovers team imo.

GC suggested that he hoped to give him the chance in an interview earlier this week.

I don't know about that because of the quite strong rumours of personal issues about him. For whatever reason it was clear that GC didnt want to select lines and several other players. On the 500 appearances issue,i don't believe in sentimental selections and believe he should pick the team on merit unless he wanted to look at kilgour or say russe to see how they perform against a good side. 499 games is an outstanding achievement for one club in the modern game anyway.

See my post above as GC seems to think differently, regardless I can't see Lines making a late second half appearance is going to make much difference. I assume Kilgore and possibly Russe will start anyway. I guess we also owe it to Luton and Pompey to put out a reasonably experienced side.

I definitely wouldn't play Ollie Clarke. I wouldn't play anyone he thinks won't be here next season. But I would still put out a competitive side.

Looking at our home form I don't think it would make much difference either way. I would just feel its unfair to chuck them in against a side that a lot of L1 fans consider the best team they have played this season.

My feelings ?pure relief! a season of over achievement by our local teams, think Bristol rugby over achieved by surviving in a any one can beat any one league,Teds over achieved by being in and around top 8 all season, Yeovil over achieved last 15 years given there resources, take no pleasure in there demise think they will find it really tough to get back, and Rovers ,well i reckon we have over achieved by retaining league 1 status at the end of a very depressing season ,well done GC and team ,especially back 5, onward and upwards!! Fair post. Just need Somerset to win that County Championship now... Now that is something I really agree with. 6 wins out of 6, could it be our year?๐ UTG!

Yessss! Still undefeated on matchday threads away from home!! That was 90+ minutes of pure purgatory, looking at the score(s) on my phone whilst being dragged out shopping!! First time she's done that this season to be fair, but did she have to choose today? Shoppers all around me were wondering what was going on when I saw the Accrington and Bradford scores coming up. Hopefully she'll take the hint and go shopping on her own in future after all the funny looks we were getting? Now let's get next week out of the way and start rebuilding for next season! UTG Well done jester. Have a summer refreshed and come back strong in August.๐ UTG!

If he lets himself go in the summer who knows what state his threads will be in come August. He needs to be out there, on the computer, every morning at 9, starting a thread, so he doesn't lose his touch. It's the modern way.

It would be wrong to put out a side which doesnโt compete against Barnsley so I hope well put out a full strength team less any of the players who have been putting their bodies on the line to get us over the safety line. The bench should be packed with youngsters though so once the result is beyond doubt they can be tried out.

Was that fair on the teams around us?? Most clubs would at this stage. I would play Kilgour as if Lockyer is here next season, he goes away with Wales a lot. So he needs more game time and he did well on loan and at Plymouth. I also wouldn't play Ollie Clarke, because it said he's one game away from a 3 game ban, which would carry over to next season. So I would give Russe a run out. I wouldn't make big changes, as it wouldn't be fair. But I would play a few to suit us.
