Bit of a blast from the past to see him playing the other night in the play-off's. Anyone know why we never got him after his loan spell for us in the end? Feeling was he wanted to continue his development with us and sign permanently. He's apparently Mansfield's second choice goalie behind Olejnik so might be worth a punt as we're in the market for a keeper.

Funny with keepers.
Are-vile fans place a lot of blame on Macey for their relegation. Roos came into cover an injured Scott Carson and became an integral part of Derby County's play off qualification.
When Macey left we were disappointed to see him go to Arsenal. When Roos left we werent too sad.

When Roos left we werent too sad. Roos was still very inexperienced while on loan with us and I think he's GREATLY improved since. Never really saw much of Macey so don't have too much of an opinion on him yet, but Arsenal have one of the best scouting networks in the country so to see something in him there must be something there.

Not disagreeing, but are-vile fans have been very critical of Macey.
Logan could have improved or not. Hopefully GC has a list of potential keepers including Bon.

Think Logan wanted better football than we could offer him as he then moved to Rotherham, although he had a really dodgy spell after he left us hence why I assume at 33 yrs old he was still only 2nd choice goalie in Div 2.

A smaller agile keeper like Steve Phillips, Parkin and Nigel Martin at 6ft 2 I think saves Reilly’s header and that extra point keeps Argyle up. I always called Bevan the failing tree, they go down so slow and this is the same of Macey and Mildy at times, you can’t deny gravity and size!
Lloris is 6ft 2, De Gea 6ft 4, Ederson at Man City 6ft 2, Alison Becker at Liverpool 6ft 3.......even Bonham might get to Reilly’s header at 6ft 4.
I’ve always said it and stand by it 6ft 4 is the maximum height for me for a keeper, anything more you have trouble get down to low balls in split section reactions and Macey at 6ft 6 is actually too big.
Jordan Pickford had a brilliant World Cup and he proved at 6ft 1 you are tall enough and a good size.

Good points well made, I've never really given that much thought but what you say does make a lot of sense. Reminds me a bit of the giants in tennis like Ivo Karlovic. Their height gives them an advantage to a degree, but at the very top level they are found wanting simply because they're not agile or mobile enough.

Pickford screwed up in the Merseyside derby if he's been a few inches taller he'd have caught the ball no problem. Plymuff's defence was cr@p most of the season just lying the blame at Macey's door is a bit harsh.
Bevan was like Payne, a player you sensed wanted to be anywhere but Rovers once he'd signed as the season before he was the best goalie in Div 2.

From what I remember he turned us down for a permanent number 1, so he could be Leicester’s number 6.

Was popular, and istr watching him when we won at Yeovil late in 2011, our relegation season. Won 1-0 and he played well but probably didn’t fancy League 2. UTG!

I’m not sure you can blame the keeper for conceding 5 at Accrington. But there we are.
When we played them their defenders looked incredibly lightweight in the challenge. Look how easily JCH got the better of them and Reilly won that glancing header. Not exactly traits of a good defence.
Logan went to play at a higher level if I remember rightly. I think he was at Rotherham and then got some game time for Leicester before going to Rochdale and being part of a promotion there.
I’m also pretty sure that he and Olinejk at Mansfield have a good fight to be number 1 and Logan has actually played more games. So hardly a number 2.

Olejnik made 21 appearences (all comps) up until he got injured in December and that was when Logan came into the team. He's only played more games because of Olejnik's injury, Logan only played in the FL Trophy between August 18th and December 22nd when they were both available, that makes Logan the number 2 goalkeeper.

I think we should go for the Exeter goalie Christy Pimm. Out of contract so i've heard...
