It was being reported over the weekend that Chelsea's Ladies Manager Emma Hayes would like to be considered as the next manager of the Men's team if they sack their current manager
How would you feel if Rovers offered her the job if and GC moves on ?
I think it would certainly give us more exposure in the Media and maybe bring a fresh perspective to our game and i would welcome it

Maybe she already has, which is why she is now a woman?

I couldn't care less if it's a man or a woman as long as the person can do the job.

I want the best possible candidates to be considered for the role and if that happens to be a woman then why not?

As above, as long as they're better than the other candidates, it's all good.
My only concern is the fans, because I remember the abuse the temp female physio got a few years back

I think Women should have all the jobs in the men's game and vice versa. Same with tv commentators - have women commentate on all the men's football and vice versa - Vicky Sparks don't you love her gruff, gravelly voice as she tries to make her commentary exciting

I think it would be very difficult for a woman to lead a men's team in this country for various reasons, not least as the vast majority would have little to no experience playing or coaching in the men's field.
The idea that we should appoint a woman as manager to gain exposure in the media is a strange one though. Clearly there's a massive agenda to promote the women's game in this country though so whoever takes this first step would undoubtedly find themselves in the headlines.

My heart tells me it shouldn't be hard for a woman to do the job, my head tells me that of course it would. Appointing the first woman EFL manager would gain us massive publicity, but right now I don't think we have the commercial or media teams, let alone the rest of the back of house infrastructure to make the most of it....so why take the risk?

I couldn't care less if it's a man or a woman as long as the person can do the job. Exactly this. I think the same answer could be applied to the BAME community too. Football managers are usually appointed on previous proven experience in management, or because they made it a vocation in life and have studied all the coaching and sciences behind it, or because they have been groomed into the role having proven themselves at reserve team/Under 23 level and have the relevant qualifications. Emile Heskey’s wife was quoted as saying that her husband hasn’t been given a chance to coach in the game. Well I can’t see anything to say that he is qualified to coach, and being an ex player doesn’t automatically qualify you or give you any set guarantees you will be a good coach/manager. A lot of ex pros that do become managers were often captains who already showed good leadership skills, players respected their authority and that led to success on the pitch. But there also seems to be an expectation that because you played in the PL under a good manager that automatically that gives you the right to a chance. Heskeys Mrs stayed Sol Campbell as an example. Look at that great ex pro managing Macclesfield. He should be managing higher. Why? He’s earning his stripes as a coach and fair play to him, that’s what you have to do. If he’s a good manager it’s not because he’s black and vice versa if it doesn’t go well. There is no reason to believe that a person, regardless of their sex, ethnicity or nationality could not be a football manager and if they were the best candidate available then I would happily see them in charge of the gas.

Absolutely, she's a terrific coach. My only concern is if she would be able to command the respect of the players - most would be fine I would imagine but some would have a problem with being told what to do by a woman.

The job should always go to the best candidate regardless.
