I was watching a few old Conference games on "You Tube" and in the Gateshead Team, where we won 1-0 was no other than Rodman, playing on the LEFT of a front 3. The in the 2-2 draw at Dartford no other than Christian Doidge up front (though he didn't score)

The in the 2-2 draw at Dartford no other than Christian Doidge up front (though he didn't score) I’m sure Rodman scored an equaliser at The Mem to make it 2-2. The away fixture at Gateshead was a brilliant smash & grab raid after a shocker of a match on a rock hard surface.

Don't get me wrong, we're in a far far better position now. But I do miss the prospect of 3 points and some decent attacking football on a Saturday afternoon

Most yearn for promotion year after year but then people start to complain when we lose more often after we go up a league. People also forget very quickly what happened in the past because of course "past means nothing" or words to that effect. Past means a lot to me, you can learn a lot from it, not least the ability to better appreciate where you're at now. I think too many people throw it out of the window for fear of being too sentimental. P.S. yes I remember Rodman scoring against us for Gateshead. Didn't he also play for Grimsby back in their earlier Conference days? I think that's why Hurst took him to Shrews when he was appointed there.

I remember some player at home jumping about 5 foot in the air to control the ball with his foot and then the blackthorn end clapping him
