Thought there was a really interesting thread on the other forum.
Apparently Rovers are charging £2500+VAT to advertise for a minute on our new boards, which are set to be extended across the front of the East stand and goal lines for next season after a successful trial. This seems to be the going rate.
This gets you one minute for every home game in the season, so 23 mins if I'm to understand correctly.
Right little money earner that!
Be interesting to see if they're blank for parts of any of the games?! Don't think they were last season but it was a trial obvs
Feel free to correct me if any info is wrong

That's a pretty good price IMO
There definitely won't be any blank spaces as they'd just advertise the stand sponsors etc & paint it as a 'freebie to a loyal customer' etc

I actually find the advertising displays around the ground like these to be annoying, and I make a mental note of NOT using the manufacturers/sponsors I see on them (if I can). I want to watch a game of football and not be subjected to this type of sublime intrusive advertising.

Agree although the only time I have genuinely been distracted whilst watching on the tele, was the Champs League final I think (edit: think it was actually another game)..
There was one company that used really f**king bright flashing at the start of their advert - was too much imo

Did we ever work out how the poor old lo-tech advertisers were compensated when their hoardings are blocked by these dazzling new things?

If we don't cash in you may just be watching us there.

Funny, at Rovers I'd actually be more tempted to go to a company that sponsors Bristol Rovers to encourage them to spend more money into the club

You can spot him on TV games, he is the one with the pink Fez on with the crotchless lederhosen........

I'm sure they would just show Sky Bet ads or Carabao Cup depending on the competition

“Thank you again for all of your support.
We are delighted to confirm that following a successful trial last season, we have confirmed a deal to continue with pitchside LED advertising next season. The new system is 40 metres longer, covering the gap in front of the Poplar Insulation East Stand and extending further down each goal line. Exposure on LED is 2.2 times more effective than static perimeter boards and offers your brand full coverage of the 140 metre system.
As an 1883 Club Member, we would like to offer you a preferential rate of £2,500 + VAT per minute for all home league matches (discounted from £3,000 + VAT). If you require production on your artwork, there will be a nominal one-off charge of £500 + VAT. Obviously there is no limit on the number of minutes you are able to purchase.”
I did a bit of a search for comaprion and came up with this was trying to find something to compare it to. A lot of things are tied into corporate packages (something I guess will be added into the 1883 club packages next season)
Seems Birmingham charged £3k for a minute per match though (30 seconds in each half)

Assuming 50% off is accurate Wigan were charging £2k a minute in League One the other year

No doubt Mr Gorringe has done due diligence on what others are charging elsewhere and set a rate which is very competitive.

Well being a stand sponsor of probably £50k-£100k per season is an understandable in comparison of spending £2,500 for a slot that you'd still receive. But like PP mentioned, probably cup competitions, next game, tickets etc is probably more likely
