I made a post on BRISA on this thread, but it's been moved for some reason. I just want to make people aware that there's a BRISA meeting happening next weekend which people are welcome to attend. It would be a shame to not have a united fanbase on this, which is why I'd encourage everyone to work together on this. Not sure if I'm available on the 10th to come and talk, but I'm not sure if it would be wanted or not. It was moved to the ISC section of the forum which ICS members asked for. I also PMd you to explain. I know that, but given that it was relevant to this thread, I though it was worth posting here.

Im confused, whats the meeting on the 10th for ? Much better off having it under the banner of a united fans group. If its just a random gathering down the boozer it be hard to create an agenda or purpose.

I didn't realise Mark had posted on behalf of ISC. I though they were two separate meetings and that ppl might find that confusing. Would you like it moved back?

He's not - I was posting it here because there are two meetings planned within two days of each other that have essentially similar purposes, albeit one is more to do with using a formal association of fans in order to campaign for changes at the club.

Ok. So BRISA meeting planned for 7/8 June then another meeting on 10 June. It's getting confusing! Too many meetings / too many forums. Don't we all want the same thing?

This stuff needs sorting out. Early signs to me indicate that unity is at risk which means any ideas will be challenged even before reaching the BoDs door. Do the minutes from the 'officialer' meeting need to be present on the 10th for further debate? Will there be cross pollination? Will there be a panel? Are drinks free?

OK...these two meetings need not be contradictory or duplicating one another. To talk about the one @ Wellington on Tuesday 10th June. Communication from the club has always been poor; now without the Fans Forum and the only 'news' on the site being about such things as a carboot sale they are worse. Coming up are two 'official' meetings. The SC meeting on the 17th is only open to SC members. The Q&A meeting with Nick Higgs hasn't even been scheduled yet! So the meeting on the 10th is an opportunity for all fans to meet, prioritise concerns, put forward ideas for improvement, and discuss ways of getting those improvements. After the meeting those who attend the official meetings should be able to better target the questioning and be aware of the support they have for their views. It also does no harm at all for the club to know that the fans are restless and unhappy (to say the least!) at where we are. News of all that is happening as regards meetings and new group/s MIGHT focus their minds better as they undertake their review!

In today's Bristol Sunday Independent (£1!) there is an excellent article by Richard Latham (page 17) entitled ' Rovers Fans Are Waiting For Closure'
The focus is the club's unwillingness/failure to communicate with fans since the end of the season.
It explains the feelings behind the arranging of the meeting on 10th June very well.

Well I for one like the sound of it. I don't know enough to rally behind it yet but that is why I will go and check it out for myself with an open mind and anus.
