Little and Clarke both went off during the first half. No Nichols, Craig or Hare in the squad today either. Joining those already out.
Hopefully none of them have serious injuries and it's just the case, of taking no risks.

Little and Ollie both looked like they had cramp and walked off under their own steam without a limp. Presumably GC didn't want to risk them in a friendly when blackpool is only two weeks away. Shame as Little looked good when he was on.
Smith looks a little lightweight upfront on his own. Seems quite pacy but struggling against two big defenders.
Didn't see Kyle Bennett's goal because of the (p¡ss-poor) bus service in Bristol, but he's looked lively and had a good shot that went just over towards the end of the half.
Their goal was unfortunate, ball was half cleared and hit back in, one of our defenders missed it and Jaakola could only palm it into the path of their striker who wasn't gonna miss from six yards out

Sometime on Twitter said they both looked to have groin problems. Hoping it's just a case of tight muscles, after a few tough weeks and not wanting to risk them.

Does not stop injuries happening. Both went down, before going off. So hopefully went off just incase and not because they were injured badly. More likely to be just precautionary in a friendly. People are panicking in a friendly 2 weeks before the season starts.

Very hard to gauge where we are in this second half, with the two forced changes in key areas (Ollie C & Little going off). Unfortunately the young lad Hoole at right back looks 3/4 years away from a senior league start and Rollin M is also light years behind Kilgour. Who for my money is 100% ready to make the step up to first team regular. Birmingham’s second coming from a header where Mayonnaise didn’t leave the floor (again)
That being said it was a positive first half with lots of neat and tidy interchanging play and chances created. Leahy, Bennett, Rodders & Davies impressing, but it is very much a training game and shooting practice for Brum now.

Its a friendly no more than a run out for Brum . I don't think they will exert themselves too much unless we get our noses in front. Still a good test against championship opposition and a chance to get an idea of how far we are away from that level. Not sure about the logic of the first para. Surely you could say that about virtually every friendly, from both sides , unless (a) they were at very different stages in pre-season, or (b) very different level of oppo. I'd suggest a friendly is a friendly. Each one is judged on many factors rather than some sort of idea that a championship team won't be trying.

I know it's one goal. But some of the way the fans dismiss bennetts ability is beyond crazy. Very decent footballer. Inconsistent but that's what hes at league one level. On his day hes better than most in this division. Woudlht be against trying to get some consistency from him. Rather than a punt on another. Sort of agree. Every player certainly has their time and place as well. Some fit well with certain managers, certain teammates and certain styles. When I talk with ex-pros the two big reasons they might have had quiet / poor periods in their career were (a) injury and (b) 'the gaffer just didn't fancy me', the latter of which means style, formation, tactics, etc. Re Bennett - the one that gets my goat is that many seem to suggest that the ONLY option is to get rid of him / pay up contract. Surely a far more obvious answer is to think about tactics, work with him, coach him, think of how a team fits together, etc.

Leahy, Bennett, Rodders & Davies impressing, but it is very much a training game and shooting practice for Brum now. You must've seen a different Rodman. Twice he just barely attempted to get on to through balls down the left, and when Reilly got space to pull back a cross, Rodman didn't make any attempt to get into position to attack it. Reilly had a go at him afterwards too. Davies looked alright though (Maybe a tad slow, but hard to be sure).

The two balls into him were well overhit, a simple ten yard ball into the path of Rodman was all that was required but it was too heavy & straight out of play. The first half In particular he was very impressive. It’s no surprise our game and the quality within it, tails off when we have to bring on the academy kids.
