It was nice to see my lad playing football today with me and shouting out not premier league players name but Harrison's name. All he needed was a role model, and a great bunch of lads who want to play football with a good manager who wants to achieve. NO JOURNEY MEN BUT TRUE PLAYERS, be our hero ELLIS.

Wow, from hero to zero back to hero.
Let's support the lad and watch him play. As we know he's only one bad performance or a tweet away from some wanting him out.
Let's support ALL the lads and give them some space. Come On Rovers!

To be fair to Ellis he's gone from being transfer listed to being potentially our most dangerous forward.

Great post wsmjohn - at last we have a team who deserve some hero worship from the youngsters! I'm particularly pleased for Ellis, as I think that he has taken note of where things went wrong, and is working at avoiding the same mistakes. Brown and Mansell particularly seem to have taken Ellis under their wings, and DC's man management seems to have been spot on. Interview with Ellis from the Evening Post website below:- Bristol Rovers' hat-trick hero Ellis Harrison downbeat after 7-1 mauling of Dorchester in the FA CupBristol Rovers striker Ellis Harrison gave a modest reply in his post game comments as a hat-trick from the Welshman helped his side complete a 7-1 away victory over Dorchester Town in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying round. The 20-year-old netted three goals in the second-half as manager Darrell Clarke gave him a place in the starting line-up ahead of loanee forward Adam Cunnington. Andy Monkhouse had given Rovers a 17th-minute lead before Matt Taylor bounded in a low shot to make it two. After half-time, skipper Lee Mansell blasted a shot in from the edge of the area before Dorchester’s Nathan Walker leaped to glance a header past Steve Mildenhall. However, Rovers showed a ruthless streak late on and saw three from Harrison and one from Monkhouse blast the home side out the water. Obviously Harrison was complemented for his performance, but he replied in strange style, and said: “I remember my miss when I should have shot, but I cut in.” Meanwhile, Harrison’s second was arguably his best as he latched onto a Lee Brown pass and kept a cool head to slot home. He added: “It was lucky, just dropped to me. I didn’t really do much.” Rovers now face an anxious wait to find out who they will face in the first round, with the draw set to take place on Monday. But after a convinving showing from Rovers, Harrison said: “It’s a good day for me but it’s a good day for the team. Seven one win is great win in any competition. “Overall you take it as any game, as if it was against Barnet, who are top of the league.” The striker was making just his second start of the season, and asked about his prospects of starting next week’s Vanarama Conference game away to Telford, the Welshman replied: “I take every game as it comes. Next game I might be on the bench but I have to come on and make an impact.”

Yes, must say I am impressed with that and sounds like a player who is maturing.

Fair play to the reporter, who is very sympathetic towards Ellis if you actually hear the interview, which is pretty excruciating. I don't mean to be uncharitable, I think Ellis himself would probably look back in a few years time and laugh at how he kept answering 'just take every game as it comes', no matter what the question was!
