I mean, this all makes total sense tbf. Wael had an offer from UWE to buy the club but instead of getting the money and walking away with a profit, he decided to reject it and rack up debts of £3m per year. It makes sense, because they’re frauds. It’s a mistake to assume any proposed deal would make DS a profit. I can imagine any potential buyer is looking to scalp them in some way using their unsustainable debt position as leverage.

I think that's a red herring and best ignored. it only failed because he wants a percentage of the club and stay on as a shareholder And it's that or liquidation is it?

And that is what would do us in- we couldn’t play league football at Twerton could we? The only viable places to my mind would be Rodney Parade or Cheltenham and we couldn’t survive long term at either of those places without a bullet proof plan to return to Bristol pretty damn quick. Strange that you should mention Newport. They were liquidated, lost their ground, started again at the bottom of the pyramid, played at Gloucester City's ground and eventually got back to playing in Newport and in the Football League. I watched them on Saturday and even managed a short chat to their DOF Lennie Lawrence. They were crap though. Pretty impressive that they fought back from having to play at Gloucester, how long ago was this and what sort of crowds were they getting? I mean, we obviously survived at Twerton but that was a different era. It would be very hard for us to replicate that a second time and come through it.

They actually played at Moreton in Marsh which is 80 miles from Newport when they first reformed approx 30 years ago before moving to Gloucester City. No idea what their attendances were.

Newport's attendances at Moreton were about 400 on average and then rose to between 600-800 at Gloucester City's Meadow Park.

Please answer me this one question because nobody else has been able to do so, without a buyer how will they get their money back? Promotion?

I played in a gloucestershire semi-final for hallen v old georgians while henbury ob were beating newport county in the other semi in front of a relatively massive crowd. A good friend of mine played for henbury and recounted the surreal experience of beating newport in front of over a 1,000 fans at arnall drive henbury!.

Unless the TP have another buyer lined up then I assume they'll have to lower their expectations? The clock for the CAZ is ticking and I'd imagine that could well destroy their present business model if it's approved by the Government.

There is a mechanism for compulsory purchase of land but, unless his family step in, there is no way of compelling Wael to sell all of his portion of the shares which Dwane Sports hold. Which is why I suggested a compromise plan on page 272.

I think we might soon be finding out how sincere he was when he said that.

I guess the fact you never watch Rovers play leads you to come up with a ridiculous suggestion.

If I said it worked for Rovers before (and Brighton) you may say the circumstances were different then because the situation was forced upon us. My response would be that it makes far more sense to avoid an unpleasant situation happening than wait for it to be forced upon us. Most Gasheads wouldn’t mind putting up with the pain of having to travel a long way to home games if they could view a webcam of the stadium under construction and knew in a few years time our club would be transformed into serious Championship contenders or maybe more.

Your suggestion on p272 suggests once we've sold the Mem we then go to the market looking for investment for a new stadium, there's no suggestion we don't agree to groundshare before finance is already in place for a new stadium. If there was a plan to move out of the Mem whilst the FM stadium is being built then that's a different issue.
