I'll field that one as someone very much not ITK...perhaps because one of the owners came out and talked about it on the radio? and do you think our current owners will pay for the full development Costs of the Fruit Market Site & The redevelopment of the mem into housing and the development of the Colony into a Cat 2 Site ? No, but then I don't expect anyone to do that

No I don't, but that's not what you said. You said what makes you think the current owners have ANYTHING to do with it.

What makes you think this project has anything to do with the current owners of Bristol Rovers Football Club Didn't catch any one with your first attempt so had to post the same vague comment again? If you've got something to say about the project or those supposedly behind just say it FFS. I Have no knowledge of Who or What is behind this large and expensive project but i'm pretty sure our current owners are not going to do fund it all by themselves

SO do you think the current owners did all the donkey work and located 3 or 4 proposed sites ? Don't you find it strange that no official announcement was made on the website or no press conference was been called ?

I don't know is the honest answer because I'm not involved in any of the discussions, nor is anyone on here, yourself included. I merely pointed out that you intimated that the project hasn't got anything to do with the owners which I'd assume is patently not true. If you had said "what makes you think the project has been entirely devised and will be entirely funded by the owners" then I'd agree with you.

Don't you find it strange that no official announcement was made on the website or no press conference was been called ? Well I don’t find it strange. What would you announce? “We have acquired a site, subject to planning consent [and we don’t know for sure that’s the case yet] and we have a number of other sites of interest if our first target doesn’t come off”. We have owners who clearly dislike speculation and only want to announce things that are reasonably concrete (apologies for the pun). I think for Wael to have said anything, this process must be well under way. As pre-application enquiries are confidential, I think the first official indication we might get, is a request for a screening opinion on whether an Environmental Impact Assessment is required for submission with the application. That won’t contain any drawings, but it would tell us what the eventual application is likely to contain e.g. size of stadium, hotel etc.

If Wael wanted to do it that way then fair enough but doing it on "having a gas" would have been a better option so 20fingers could have had a decent discussion with him ?

You’re not wrong, but he announced it earlier than he wanted to, as information had started to leak out and the Al Qadis are not Nick Higgs. Each time Geoff Twentyman asked follow up questions about finance for instance, Wael said it would be “inappropriate” to comment at that stage. Wouldn’t make for much of an interview. Perhaps Wael was just relieved to be able to say something positive about the stadium for once.

The real question is who and how much is baseless lies, what’s speculation, what’s spun and misinformation, and what’s concrete truth.

Surely the issue is that it was suggested by certain posters Wael had no involvement in these plans, the fact he's not released anything of any substance, apart from it's the Fruit Market site adds weight to that view?
