Just want to add my positive vibes and say this has made me very excited. The Transport links will be brilliant for most home and away fans. In WAQ i trust. I think the reason we've heard about this before seeing plans and applications is due to too many leaks once planners/planning consultancy's start to get involved. Lets get behind WAQ and the club! Hello Mrs Wael I don’t think they are talking terms at the moment.

Points west just said rovers made a offer three months ago but was rejected Presumably otherwise if it was a no full stop, Wael wouldn’t still be going on about it. They must be fairly confident at the very least.

If he’s willing to go public, then I’d be amazed if there isn’t already a deal signed to purchase the site, subject to the granting of planning permission. A site for residential use in BS7, will be highly sought after and there is already the precedent of a planning permission for a different use, if an alternative ground is available. Am i right in saying there is a convent on the Mem saying we cannot be made homeless ? Nun that I'm aware of 😉👍

"No offer has been accepted. No planning process has started"
I am normally very sceptical about a new stadium, but the above from the Fruit Market chappie is hardly an unequivocal denial. In fact it ties in with what Wael has told us. Shocking confirmation that Wael might just be telling us the truth.
If it is all bollox, then Nick Matthews could easily have said so. And why wouldn't he, if it was all bollox? But he didn't. He gave a classic political/business statement, appearing to deny it is true, whilst actually virtually confirming things are happening by his choice of words.
I don't know why people who think they are influential feel they have to speak in this Orwellian way, but they just love to do it. I think it must give them a bit of a stiffie.

I'm pretty uneducated on what the situation is as of current as this is a 28 page long thread and I've only read the first page. But why are Sh1!heads replying with "the gift that keeps on giving," as I don't recall Wael having ever said we'd bought it and it's not been sold yet

These points? Register of interests: Marvin Rees 9. Gifts and hospitality Lunch paid for by Steve Hamer, Chairman of Bristol Rovers FC 17th November 2016 Fruit and flowers from Graham Taylor, the Fruit Market 22nd March 2017 Flight from Guangzhou to Malaysia, and then from Malaysia to Bristol, 1 night accommodation and all meals were funded by YTL. 8th - 10th December 2017 Dinner paid for by YTL 14th March 2018 Working lunch paid for by YTL 12th July 2018 Yes. Probably meaningless but interesting all the same. No mention of him being taken out to lunch by Henbury to keep the Westbury on Trym flasher rumours quiet though. I work under the name Hugo the blanket when doing "Political" work....

Wael speaks in March,’we are working hard behind the scene on looking for a new site to build a stadium’ Wael speaks in Aug ‘ our preferred site is the Fruit Market & we are working with council on pre planning, we haven’t purchased the land but have agreement that if we get green light, we have the investment in place to buy & build ‘ ( or words to that effect )
I am certainly not pro board, but after all the cloak & dagger over UWE part 1 & 2, why would he say this unless it’s true ? He leaves himself wide open to ridicule if it’s lies. Perhaps there is one shareholder holding out, maybe his position is hopeless if all the others agree - no idea, but will give Wael the benefit of the doubt for now.
However, still not excited that it will ever reach ‘fruition’

This is the tweet. Turns out the chap is regional director. It’s strange but a few possibilities: 1) he knows there’s a deal and he’s playing with words to reassure his staff 2) he’s a regional director, and the head office haven’t told him they’re negotiating on the site with the club 3) somewhere in between. 4. its all bullshit and another way to keep the fans onside for the new season similar to the proposed new training ground a few years ago True fans would stay on side whatever the owners are doing to better the club

I cannot believe anyone is getting excited about this. Have we not learnt anything over the years? Gas heads don't get excited.... only Sh1!heads get excited when they see their sisters in a nighty

However, still not excited that it will ever reach ‘fruition’ www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p07hnztnInterview starts at 20 mins, clear indication was that they only needed to sort out planning and they hoped to have the ground built inside 2 years(!), there's no suggestions they still had to agree on a price for the land with the owners.
