Plenty of parking on industrial estates along the Feeder Road, most will empty on Saturdays.

I listened to Wael’s interview and I’ll believe it when I see it. In the new stadium in 2 years but can’t say how long planning permission timeline is roughly. The fruit market one of a number of sites. Same old waffle. Sick of hearing it.

Main shareholder on radio bristol of the fruit market has not heard anything allegedly. There is a school of thought that Wael is coming out with well meaning nonsense to deflect from a poor summer...then I read the above where the main shareholder claims to know nowt and it makes me wonder whether that school of thought is less of a conspiracy theory than it appears... ...but then someone on here claims to have seen a letter of intent to buy the land.... I guess I shall just resign myself to the phrase “I’ll believe it when I’m sat in it” and consider that we shall be at the memorial stadium for the next 10 years.

Strange that the company based in Dublin and one of the world's largest producers and distributors of fresh produce and has six directors currently listed refused to comment for the Bristol Post, but did do for Radio Bristol this afternoon. They would say that though if a NDA was in force would they not.

This is the tweet. Turns out the chap is regional director.
It’s strange but a few possibilities: 1) he knows there’s a deal and he’s playing with words to reassure his staff 2) he’s a regional director, and the head office haven’t told him they’re negotiating on the site with the club 3) somewhere in between.

What’s the benefit of doing that? There is none.

I cannot believe anyone is getting excited about this. Have we not learnt anything over the years?

I cannot believe anyone is getting excited about this. Have we not learnt anything over the years? I wouldn't say "excited" is the right word for me to be honest. I'm thirsty for information, but until I see concrete plans/evidence (literally) I will not get excited. It's interesting to delve into the possibilities nonetheless though. Too many false dawns and I am determined not to get excited only to have my hopes dashed once again.

I would lmagine if the area is earmarked by Bristol City Council for regeneration they probably wouldn’t want a fruit distribution centre slap bang in the middle of it. A stadium incorporating a hotel & other leisure facilities would be much more favourable.

Doesn’t really tell us a lot. If there is a deal, they will be there for a while yet anyway. An in principle offer wouldn’t come into force until after planning permission has been obtained. No formal planning process has yet started, so again that doesn’t tell us anything. I’m reminded of an article a couple of decades ago in the Post. A company (Bristol Wire Rope, I think) was responding to rumours about selling its city centre site. ‘We owe it to our customers to maintain a city centre base’, was the thrust of the response. Sold it a few months later to a developer for offices.
