I doubt, I don't get the feeling that any good news is coming soon. Not sure Wael makes it to many games at all nowadays. He's lowered his expectations. Has he?

Walked past him outside the turnstiles for the Thatchers end at the Portsmouth game. So did I. He was at the Portsmouth game as he presented Weeksy a signed shirt and a donation following his 7 marathons in 7 days fundraising. Wael goes to every home game if he is in the UK and often travels away too if he’s here.

We all know the FM is up for sale and the plans for the area include sports facilities, the big question is whether it includes a football stadium and if Wael is still interested. I doubt, I don't get the feeling that any good news is coming soon. Not sure Wael makes it to many games at all nowadays. He has been, recently but it was around 4-5 months that he did not come, prior to that

He has been, recently but it was around 4-5 months that he did not come, prior to that Perhaps there was some very understandable personal and business reasons for that? You also don’t need to be in person anymore to watch us perform, or not as the case maybe.

He was stood on a soaking wet, windy and freezing cold terrace at Forest Green. Could have easily sat up in the stand or watched at home!!

Definately at the Portsmouth and FGR games recently and was certainly not absent for four or fives months. I have seen him at the Mem on several occasions this season and certainly several times in the last six months or so.

He was stood on a soaking wet, windy and freezing cold terrace at Forest Green. Could have easily sat up in the stand or watched at home!! Yes, that’s great I hope he enjoyed it as much as I did. Wael’s a great guy and has been a good owner. But, I don’t want the owner of BRFC having to stand on the terrace to show his credentials, I want him to be dealing with the issues facing the club, developing the club to its potential and making sure the club is improving. That’s his job, not necessarily trying to be one of the fans. Perhaps I’m glad he does come over as a ‘fan’ but given what he said about the priority being a new ground in February 2016 the evidence for anything happening on that front is pretty flimsy. Standing on the terrace and smiling is pretty easy to do it’s the hard stuff we need happening. He may well be doing something and is about to astound us all with good news about a ground very soon but the evidence that that will happen is more about blind faith than anything else. Not that I can do anything about it except enjoy the journey which I do. But come on, Wael has to be judged on more than just standing on the terrace. He’s done lots of good things but the priority remains as it was in 2016, indeed it’s probably further away. UTG!

Read the news on how many Clubs are going bust? You think we'd still be around without him? I'm sure he's spending as much as he can afford.

I didn’t. I do know he done more and I’ve said it several times. And recently I haven’t heard of any clubs going bust. Have you, if so who? Lots of other clubs with financial problems don’t have Wael and they’re still here. If he’s spending “as much as he can afford” (and I have no problem with that) why did he buy us when, had he done his homework, he would have known we need a new ground which then would have cost £20m+ (?). He knew he would have to spend major on a new ground. If he didn’t know that then his ability as an owner comes into question. We really have got to get away from those who will not allow any questioning of Wael and his ability to deliver on the new ground. If he can’t afford it then I’m afraid that’s his problem (although it’s probably our problem), he shouldn’t buy a football club needing major investment if that were the case. Let’s have a grown up discussion about the ground without any questioning of Wael being pounced upon as some kind of heresy. It really doesn’t help BRFC. UTG!

No problem having a genuine grown up discussion about infrastructure or lack of it. What I have witnessed on here over the years is that the smallest tidbit of negativity is amplified and span into something it doesn't need to be, arguably by some with certain motives for doing so. Because of this, those who are in the 'glass half full' camp have become more alert to this and find it tiresome and irritating, which leads to a questioning of hidden motives. Unfortunately, some with genuine interest in debating get caught up in that baggage.

I have never known of any motive but, seen years after his first address, saying the ground would be built and finance was not a problem, we are still not close to moving.

Do you think covid and the global economic slowdown might just have something to do with it??
