Someone has left the building recently but not communicated to the fans yet, will surprise a few. Can’t imagine it’s anyone on the footballing staff given that JB took his interview today and Andy Mangan was on the training video as well. Can’t think of anyone who would ‘surprise a few’ bar Gorringe himself. Unless it’s the Twitter guy because Twitter is proper quiet right now.

You literally can't get anywhere less out of town than the Fruit Market, and that's the only one on the table at the moment (no matter how unlikely it now seems). I do agree though that we should redevelop the Mem, I know I've banged on about this before, but we should re-orientate the pitch 90 degrees, build a new east stand behind the current one then in the off season dismantle the old east stand, re-orientate the pitch, use the current west stand behind the other goal, extend the temporary south stand along what would then be the side touchline, and either extend the Thatcher's or add a temporary stand in the space up to the new East stand, giving a capacity of between 15, and 20,000 depending on how big you build, then redevelop each side as and when. I reckon that the footprint at the Mem is roughly similar to Easter Road, Hibs ground, that's a great ground, just over 20,000 capacity and the option to fill in the corners which I think would take it up to around 27,000. Sounds great but: -We are struggling to build a temporary single lift structure at the moment. -Why do we need a ground with 3x our current capacity? -The objections to this would stop it in its tracks. -It won't happen. I doubt it will happen but I doubt even more that we will get a brand new stadium that we own and get all the income from. Where did I say that we were going to renovate it into a 30,000 seater stadium? I specifically said redevelop as and when we need to a 15,000+ capacity, we've had planning permission for more in the current site. If you mean my reference to Easter Road, I was just giving that as a comparison as to what could be fitted into our current site

the richest people don't show their wealth. having known a few as friends (RIP) that's true. The old-school with money don't like to show off their wealth. They think it's vulgar to buy flash cars etc. They will buy quality things that last for many years. No designer labels on show etc. They try to play down their wealth.

What are you calling 'rich' here? Flash cars and designer labels are all over the gaff in Monaco and Dubai. Or aren't those guys rich? If you're talking about local property developers and farmers, then yeah sure. Obviously it's about the person anyway, dome show it off whilst others don't and some pretend.

They buy top quality that is understated and that doesn't go in or out of fashion.

The conditional contract expires on 31 March 2024 in the event that a planning application has not been made by Conygar Bristol Limited for the development of the site.
Approaching 5 months left for Conygar to have submitted planning application.
I guess it is coming close to the crunch time. Parties need to make those decisions that they want in or they don't.
For the size of project I can't imagine they will be wanting to work relentlessly right up close to the deadline.

Places like Monaco and Dubai from my experience is more of the Celebrity 'A list' wealth. Where they can mingle with other people like them without any hassle in their own little bubble. The majority of the mega rich don't flaunt it. They keep out of the limelight, don't search fame and are very much inconspicuous. Apart from a couple, like Elon Musk,I couldn't tell you who the majority of the 200 richest people in the World are or what they look like. They don't drive around in Maclarens or Maseratis, they don't wear diamond incrusted Girard-Perregaux watches, they don't have Social Media accounts, they don't do interviews etc, they are incredibly private people. Most of them are very frugal. Which is probably why they're so wealthy in the 1st place.

These guys are Arabs and they know who's got the money over there.

Odds on Conygar failing, Rovers and the Brabazon arena dudes then taking over the whole site to build a mega stadium with a retractable roof?

It'll have to become something. I doubt there is scope within the Filton site for a stadium as much as I'd like one. Purchasing the BAWA site just down the road would be interesting.

The mentality is a lot different than some might assume because they don't feel the need to impress anyone. They are incredibly frugal in respect of buying top quality and expect things to last. Even clothes are passed down through generations.

Could be done if the will is there.
