So new owners build hotels, shopping malls etc. Rovers were looking for someone else to build a stadium for us. Rovers (rumoured) to have pulled out of deal at FM.
Anyone think this might be because the new owners want to build the stadium themselves ?

Anyone think this might be because the new owners want to build the stadium themselves ? No. Not unless they are committed to a very long time with the club, and haven't done any due diligence on how difficult it would be to build a sports arena in or around Bristol. The fans obsession with a new stadium has reached its most intensity. We have needed a ground for 37 years and yet we are seemingly no closer than we were in 86. Apart from speculation, hope, wishful thinking and a few wishy washy internet clippings, there's no evidence that points to the new owners being capable of building a stadium. There's too much secrecy and lack of info from our club on this topic. That's because there's little confidence. The soundbites that we've had all these years were only to quell the frustration. It's obvious with hindsight yet many fans blame outside influences or bad luck. We just don't have the cash or commitment imo. www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/planning/major-developments/community-stadium-history#

If this is really true then it seems like a strange way to communicate with fans, via some obscure Twitter account with less than 100 followers. I’m surprised nobody has mentioned before that TG only seems to do interviews with students who run podcasts nowadays.

the old money don't feel the need to show-off wealth. Doing so is frowned upon. They buy top quality that is understated and that doesn't go in or out of fashion. Right. I got you. The Bentleys and IWCs I spot are only the new money👍🏼 There's rich and rich. These guys are Arabs and they know who's got the money over there. My experience of HNW for wealth in the Middle East is quite different to the wests perception and it is they don’t want off the shelf fashion and neither do they buy it. They want and do get invited by brands and have 1 of 1 custom cars, watches, clothes etc made for them. Places like Monaco have strict rules on privacy, which is why most high end businessmen, sportsmen and actors have places there, they can go to restaurants and bars and be themselves and also be fair inconspicuous too. They also holiday in places like French Polynesia, BVI and other tiny dots of islands which, because they have hired help with them all of the time, will cost the hundreds of thousands per trip. If anyone has worked in with proper HNW people or companies they will know the type of thing I’m talking about, the wealth that’s out there that no one knows about or who they are is astounding.

Well if you had a lot of wealth and wanted to keep coy about it buying a football club probably isn’t the way to go about doing it. Unless it’s like Mangotsfield United.

I think categories of wealth are important here. People making sweeping statements and observations (which we are all doing) doesn't add value. Many people know someone who works on private yachts or personal security or design of some sort, so yes, there are bits of insight here n there. The guys that have taken over brfc though...I haven't seen a new yacht in the docks, no helipad installed at the mem, even the clothing is a bit scruffy if I'm being honest. Matches our brand though I guess so..

I’d be disappointed if this is solely how TG decides to communicate after the past few weeks. Hopefully the wait to publish is because TG is releasing something “official” at the same time or beforehand.

Tonally if very little of substance is said on the big ticket items I'd understand the lack of comms. Would be disappointing if the rumour is very directly denied. That said, I hope it is and that I am disappointed with the comms rather than the vision for the future.

Apart from Wael and Lansdown because they're owners of our local clubs, how many Football Club owners could you recognise or know much about? Even at the top level I wouldn't recognise or know who the majority of the owners are or what they do. They're still very much in the background and keep themselves inconspicuous. Unless it's Ryan Reynolds!

Who is Ryan Renolds? Nothing to do with League 1 is he? That’s all I follow - Rovers and our league.

Conygar are a developer and investment business. They'll contract everything out or help fund contracts.

Isn't tom shaw the medical staff who Barton always quotes as being brilliant and the reason previously Injury prone players like Lewis Gibson have played a lot more under us? If so big loss that. Edit. Tom short I was thinking of not Shaw.
