Cabot Circus car park to the fruit market is less than one mile away. 10 minutes walk from Temple meads. Brislington Park and Ride stops near by Great location

Jesus mate, you might as well write 'hi otib' on the grass in the middle for them while you're at it! Who gives a f**k what they think, especially if they can't place things in context. But just for you, this is me stating categorically that I think we will build the biggest stadium in the world on the Fruit Market within 2 months and it will look like this: That is Epic. Almost looks like it's constructed out of tents as well. Right down Wael's street that is!

Anyone will think there is a car exclusion zone around this patch of land. There will probably be more parking around this site than the Mem and Ashton Gate put together. All it means that public transport is a much better option than it is now, so it’s a positive. I currently drive to the Mem, if we move to st Phillips, a train ride return from temple meads is going to cost £7.40. More parking in the area than the Mem and Ashton Gate? Really? I wish I could find some of it on a weekday morning before work! Seriously though, just an extra £7.40 will surely put some off what is already an expensive day. I don't know your journey of course but wouldn't that train ride be more expensive? I really hope we can make this happen, but I do think there will have to be some imaginative deals struck with local businesses and public transport providers first. As for car parking on site, BCC are hardly supportive of that in general at the moment. Problem is gas1970 whatever position or site is proposed for a new stadium there will always be complaints. It won’t suit some and it will suit others and parking, travelling will always be used in the arguments. I will keep out of it because I don’t know the area at all. All I know from my own family research is that my grandparents who introduced me to Rovers were born in the St Phillips / St Ann’s area over 120 years ago! That’s my sum of knowledge of the area! So sod all effectively. But it’s interesting reading what others are saying with some knowledge of the area. UTG!

I agree that this area is likely to get a massive upgrade in the near future, although on a side note you would have to say that the writer of that document writes like a w**ker of the highest order. I mean who doesn't love 'permeating the urban fabric' or relaxing by an 'activated canal'. I sense that we should just stop for a moment and celebrate the River Avon's tidal shifts. It just makes me feel so multi-functional and vibrant. Maybe after that we could pop over the Active Link for a quiet moment of reflection in the Unifying Park. Oh, and the fact that they freely admit that they just made it all up as well. There's that too. Fair enough, but they are a respected and successful business, did the council engage them for some ideas? I think they were just doing it off their own backs to try and get some kudos from their peers in an almighty architect-speak wankfest from what I can make out. The concept (ie the regeneration of that area) is absolutely correct though in that council have this area in their plans and I believe are actively pushing for it to be regenerated in this kind of way. I think this particular mob were simply brown-nosing council and their peers at this point in time though. But I'm agreeing with you that a stadium in this regenerated area would be great - was just put off by the sort of tosh that they seem to write in these brochures!

Speaking about out of town stadia, on the way back from Blackpool yesterday the train from BP to Manchester stopped at a small rural station called Howich? Just across the road was the Reebock or whatever it's called these days, how about The Debtors Sin?
Anyway, the train set off again and it was a good 10 mins of fast travel before we reached the outskirts of Bolton. Their fans might have taken the p1ss out of the Mem, but I'd take that over living in that desolate, God-forsaken sh1thole.

This is potentially a great location, right near a mainline station, with park and ride links (which is planned to be upgraded), and near the city centre, in an area that is being heavlily redeveloped. Clubs should ideally be in the heart of the community, and that's just where this proposed site is.

So my understanding is that we are only likely to buy the site if we are able to get planning permission.
Surely an application must be in the post and will be available for all to see before long? Wael again will have to answer why not, if nothing happens
If there are complaints, who would they come from? The site would be bought from the various owners Near by business, mainly pubs, will see sales rocket on a Saturday. Currently the site is just concrete and steel sheds - so what could greens moan about? Public transport like are great - less people driving, something the greens also would be happy about. Not really residential area.
Struggling to think of any negatives about the location and reason for anyone to be upset.
Really hoping Wael wasnt buying time with what he said on the radio, he cant be non-committal forever, actions speak louder than words as they say.
