Regarding parking, sorry if it's been mentioned before, but surely the logical solution would be to use the Brislington A4 park and ride, get the bus to the Thunderbolt and walk across the bridge to the site? 10 minutes on the bus, 10 minute walk. Easy enough for extra busses to be added for games, they manage it all easily and efficiently for the Bristol 10k/half marathon. Just like to point out, that clubs like Eintracht Frankfurt have their main car park for match days under the pitch/stadium ! The Germans like to build bunkers underground. It really is the best way to optimize space. Incoming image of what the Waldstadion will look like on the Fruit Market.

Mmm... I don't know how you would settle such a wager. If anything I would suggest Wael has gone off-piste under a little bit of pushing from Twentyman. Dwane Sports must be looking at some potential sites. This is almost most certain, or probable, or possibly just wishful thinking. I think Wael just decided on a whim that Fruit Market was the 'best one' to share. This would then placate supporters who have heard nothing at all year regarding a potential new site. IMHO far more likely that in 6-9 months we will hear that the project isn't viable. A bit like the pretend redevelopment of the Memorial Stadium. Even Wael's most ardent supporters would have to accept that that was a piece of pure fiction. For me - it just buys Dwane Sports some more breathing space. Believe it if you want to, I don't have a problem with that. But I don't. Why would they need more "Breathing Space" ? I don't think 20man actually forced Wael into saying anything, it seemed to me Wael had already decided to announce the plans prior to the interview. I can't see he's in any desperate need to find 6 months or so breathing space, most fans are presently looking forward to next week's game, not planning a protest!!

Jesus mate, you might as well write 'hi otib' on the grass in the middle for them while you're at it! Who gives a f**k what they think, especially if they can't place things in context. But just for you, this is me stating categorically that I think we will build the biggest stadium in the world on the Fruit Market within 2 months and it will look like this: I wondered what happened to our Fruit Bowl !

There is that, plus the local businesses making a bit of cash from their carparks as others have mentioned. Overall much more capacity than at the Mem.

Cabot Circus car park to the fruit market is less than one mile away. 1.5 miles, to be picky, but you're right it's still not far

Personally love the location of proposed site, it ticks a hell of a lot of boxes for a decent football day out given it’s whereabouts. Agree with posters about out of town stadiums with emphasis on driving to now being not so highly thought of. It feels strange that such a big announcement was done in such a way. Given the disappointments of the past decades I am only treating this as pure speculation until the lines are painted and nets put up, want to feel more euphoric but just scarred from the past.

What big announcement? Unless I missed something, all the was said was that we were interested in the site... Hardly an announcement?! I suspect that this was either a bluffing tactic re UWE and a potential deal that is still being discussed there, or indeed if is genuine, was the first mention of something that will now likely drag on for years before we see any actual tangible progress.

When and if they build Henbury Station as part of the Loop Line, they plan to put a "Massive" park and ride next to it (bottom of Cribbs causeway) , so a short train ride to Temple meads, Job done ! Henbury - Why whenever you mention this do I read it as the 'Henbury Hoop' line? Will it be a sort of day trip destination for Doggers? This is Bristols version of the reeperbahn, which you know all about you dirty old bootneck

That changes everything regarding the location. For some of these plans to come to fruition, access routes would be improved. Wow is all I can say, if we are formed as part of these plans, the area becomes fantastic. Without it im happy with it, this site will be incredible. I agree that this area is likely to get a massive upgrade in the near future, although on a side note you would have to say that the writer of that document writes like a w**ker of the highest order. I mean who doesn't love 'permeating the urban fabric' or relaxing by an 'activated canal'. I sense that we should just stop for a moment and celebrate the River Avon's tidal shifts. It just makes me feel so multi-functional and vibrant. Maybe after that we could pop over the Active Link for a quiet moment of reflection in the Unifying Park. Oh, and the fact that they freely admit that they just made it all up as well. There's that too. Fair enough, but they are a respected and successful business, did the council engage them for some ideas?

You may call me a cynic (quiet at the back!), but are the AQ's just doing what Higgs did? Rumours are that they've been trying to sell the club, but with the debts and value of the club they'd only get offers of one quid to take it over. They wouldn't get their money back. However, with a bit of planning permission at the Fruit Market, does that make Rovers a more attractive proposition to buy, just like Higgs and UWE?
