If the President of our football club is saying that this site can be purchased, outline planning permission approved within the overall long term development aims of the whole area, detailed stadium plans drawn up and agreed and a stadium built and functional within two years, reeks of pure fantasy or in plain language bullshit. Who is he trying to kid? Blue I agree with a lot of your posts, but I think realistically if we are actually bulldozing/building within next 6 months most would be happy... you are right fully functioning stadium is more realistically 3 years away...but who knows, Wael has made a rod for his own back, hopefully he is committed to this idea and seeing it through as soon as possible. Having just listened to the interview on the BBC website, I'm not sure Wael actually stated 2 years? G20Man asked if it would be 2 years until we have a new stadium ready and Wael responded to say that they'll try but that anything can go wrong. I don't think there's anything wrong with that response? |

No nothing wrong, i have stated previously i think 3 years would be more realistic, but if a stadium can be built in 2 years then that would be amazing. jeez are we actually moaning that there's not a confidentiality clause now There is a Confidentiality Agreement in force and Wael SHOULD NOT have mentioned this. I just hope he has not put the whole matter in jeopardy. How the hell can you say this, unless someone else (including yourself) has already broken any agreement that’s in place? |

I have just read the transcript of the interview, as already mentioned he talks about several possible sites and that they are working with Bristol City Council on pre-planning work for a site.
Easy to read too much or too little into those words, I remain in the glass half-full camp on this one - UTG

O dear, the morally superior are live and well; fortunately, how l feel, and decide to narrate, currently at least, is a matter for me and no one else, long may that continue. The point in question, is in my opinion, taking too much notice of the annual Wael & Twentyman radio address to the faithful, can be rather full hardy. Thinking your can build a twenty thousand seat stadium on the Fruit Market, a site where the surrounding area has no infrastructure to support a massive influx of vehicles, is strange at best and will be a very challenging discussion with Bristol City Council. Most sensible post I have read. Agree entirely. Good intentions do not mean the outcome will be definite and there are so many other questions that this site raises. The biggest shareholder of the site has been quoted, on BBC points west, that an offer was made 3 months ago and rejected and letters were sent to employees, to say that nothing was changing and then added, certainly not in the next 2 years. Make if that what you will. I also don’t understand why people think it would be a useful use of funds, to seek planning permission on someone else’s property. My default position is locked in, I will believe it when sat in it, watching a league game. |

He bangs on that Wael has nothing to do with it and that he has been trying to find out himself. If that is true it wasn't him that couldn't keep his mouth shut. So someone that does not own us, has been in negotiations, not knowing if they can even buy the club. I've been told by a good source that it was Hamer and Masters that started spreading rumours before and we all know the ones so say in the know listen to them. He should look at his own contracts and moan at them about breaking agreements. As of what he says it's true, Wael wouldn't either know, if it wasn't for them. |
