Can't we purchase the old site of Eastville Market? And build it ourselves?

Can't we purchase the old site of Eastville Market? I don’t see why we can’t purchase IKEA?

Fruit market will never happen ~ we've been down this road before and been jerked around. But on a positive note......no, can't think of any

Imagine a life where you spend so much time and money on, you are willing to damage it still though to prove your point?
Imagine a life where you speculated hours on end if something was going to happen or not?
Imagine a life if you speculated on something you never really knew anything about the subject, like planning laws?
Imagine a life of you speculating for hours and days if someone is telling the truth that doesn’t affect your home and family?
Imagine a life where you just see where the latest news on a project goes as you have for the last 40 years and don’t be too disappointed if it doesn’t come off again?!
Some are going to speculate, try and damage the club, make up rumours, give opinions on contaminated land, busy roads, funding and whatever for the next 30, 60, 90 days until the next news comes out.
Personally I just hope I never see one upfront again Saturday, saw too much of this under DC, it drains me to see us play this way!

We are trying to build a stadium not open a knocking shop. Hang on a mo. Last season we were trying to fund new signings with a four quid sausage roll. I reckon a knocking shop would earn more money, meaning we get better players!

We are trying to build a stadium not open a knocking shop. Shame that. Although judging by the bars at the Mem the queues would be horrendous anyway, and by the time you get to the front the service would be awful.

We are trying to build a stadium not open a knocking shop. Ah we are heading back into LGBT territory again; used to be a good pub crawl in Old Market 20 - 25 years ago from what I can recall

I can see why the entitled side of Bristol are fuming in their belief that Bristol City Council appear supportive of BRFC in acquiring a site for a new Stadium, especially as they have no choice but to pay their Council Tax like the rest of us. Perhaps BCC are sympathetic towards BRFC in regard to the huge disparity between the funding of both Clubs. Has it now been accepted as fact that BCC are funding it because a city fan made up a scenario? Jesus Not sure there's any proof BCC are supporting anything stadium related, if they were then surely they'd be putting a compulsory purchase order on the FM site, not leaving a third party to try and negotiate a purchase on our behalf? As far as the Arena I don't get what benefit BCC will get from having it built right on the edge of the county border, where most visitors will use the hotels/bars/shops etc in S Glos. Anyway what's happened to Knowall as he had an NDA order slapped on him, as he's been reading the forum daily but never posting his views?

Interesting...except it's a Bristol Post article which instantly discredits the story
