Mods is there any chance of getting this thread merged with the Fruit market thread? They're kind of both about the same thing? Just a thought... They can’t it’s moving to fast it might blow the whole network up!

That article reads like a massive fail for Wael/DS: "The Al-Qadis have effectively had the club up for sale for more than a year after becoming frustrated at covering losses, which totalled £65,000-a-week in their accounts for 2017/18, and the ongoing inability to find a new home for the club, which would help alleviate that financial black hole." They will leave having achieved the square root of sod-all. Without wanting to fully parody the well known scene in the Life of Brian, the answer to 'What did the Al Qadis ever do for Bristol Rovers?' includes preventing us going bankrupt by stumpimg up £65k per week, keeping us in L1, taking the brave decision to change manager last year and ensuring that there is still a football club to put in the possible new stadium. Yes, I know they still own the Mem as an asset to support their loss, but at least they didn't walk away when UWE fell through. To put losses of £65k a week over a season into context, at that level of loss, we would need to increase gates by about 7,000 to break even. Two points. They haven't put any money in that they aren't going to get back whether this deal goes through or not. They caused the UWE to fall through.

So many wild assumptions flying off of the handles, this is quite incredible. I’ll just quietly hope none of you are on the jury, should I find myself in the dock!

Thought that was Sainsbury's? Not sure the ALQ's, or anybody else for that matter, would have made the UWE viable once they shafted us by not purchasing the Mem. Hopefully if this does come off we'll still own the ground not have to rent it for someone.

Where have all the posts gone in the thread? Merged with the Fruit Market thread, I'd imagine.

Where have all the posts gone in the thread? Fruit market thread. They got merged but I guess Hudson posted while it was being done, or something.

He's always said he'd sell if someone came along who could push the club forward. I wish people would stop believing the sh*te they make up, he's always been up front with his intentions. I thought he first said he would listen to offers in March 2019, but not before. Prior to that it was "I'm in it for the long run". Happy to stand corrected if that is not the case.

Reading between the lines Wael/dwayne sports realised they made a mistake buying Rovers and have been looking to off load it for a considerable time. There now is a potential buyer that has basically been outed by Wael's radio interview. If it doesn't come off we could be up the creek without a paddle. Wael has come out of this looking like a Charlatan. At last, people are starting to see what is happening. Finally.

For fans of most football clubs, this news story would create excitement and intrigue. All I feel is scepticism. How many false dawns have we had? I really thought the Jordanians would take this club forward. Agreee, but the failure to have ANY coherent plans for a training ground (after buying the land) was the moment I switched off. It seemed pretty clear at that point they didn't have the money or the strategy.
