Most grounds look ,'Nice and Neat'.Our tents and Dickensian stands look so untidy compared to almost everyone else's set up but our situation seems to just go on and on.What would happen if we got promoted and we were told you have two seasons to go All Seater? Recall a game under Mc Ghee I think, where were were struggling at the foot of League 2 and in a dire match at the Mem ,Torquay had a young winger on loan from Spurs who was head and shoulders above any other player on view that day and beat us.Think though they were relegated to the Conference with us, narrowly missed getting back last season but really struggling this time along with Scunthorpe,Oldham and Yeovil. Ian Holloway interviewed at HT.Never lost his accent. NB.Shown Robin Subbs.81 now.Liked him. Let’s not forget that had it not been for the Dunfords we would not have a team or a ground.

There's more than a few we need to be thankful for but whom funnily enough come in for heavy critism.

When Wael was presented as the new owner, he said that funding would not be an issue and, as an investment banker i am sure that he would be able to sort the funding but, having now said that, we were in different times and not facing possibly the longest recession in a century. The deal with UWE came to a grinding halt as it seems that they had a much bigger split of any profits plus car park and so it was not a good deal for the club. Lord knows what is going on but i do not understand why we would sell the mem only to rent, that is IF the FM is still on. My own gut feel is that it isn’t but , as always, i could be wrong. It is a totally different scenario to when the Al Qadi family took over and even more so now Wael is the sole owner. There’s no way the club would sell the Mem and move into a rented stadium with no long term protection. A very long term leasehold would be the most obvious route, not too different than someone buying a flat with a long leasehold compared to buying a house with a freehold. Being the optimist I think the FM is still a possibility until such time as it’s confirmed otherwise. The club are very guarded with sharing information but if it is totally dead in the water there will be no point in them keeping quiet. The council, the developers or planners will indicate whether a stadium is still part of the overall development of the area. It is more the not hearing anything from the developers that seems more relevant to me. Previous to now we had updates about conygar but i can’t find anything

Been announced today that planning permission has been granted to Wrexham for their new 5500 seat stand with hospitality suites etc to be built at the Kop end of their ground that has not been in use since 2008. The stand will jointly be funded by their owners and the governments levelling up fund. This will take their ground capacity to 16k.

The financial experts on this forum have made it pretty clear that redevelopment of your own stadium is a complete non starter

I can't get my head around how the UK(?) Government's levelling up fund can finance a new stand at a privately owned football club, why couldn't the owners just fund a smaller stand themselves? Have Rovers missed out on some decent funding as surely the Mem needs levelling (up)!

Because the proposal enhances the appearance of the stadium in the area and provides non football exhibition areas etc etc. If our owners came up with similar proposals who’s not to say they would not get government backing. The 5500 seats are the rail type that allow safe standing And the whole building looks very impressive. Will be completed for the start of the 24/25 season.

Can you imagine....I'm glad we've got a forum of contributors who have all had to prove their qualifications on enrollment. It's not the same at all clubs apparently

Topper, it’s part of the Wrexham gateway scheme. A £100 million scheme to tidy up that part of Wrexham and this is one small part of it.

The UK Goverment have already turned down one bid for £18m, the second bid for the money seems to be based on the hollywood factor now that pp has been granted for the stadium redevelopment.
