How about driving down the hill to stapleton rd station and getting the train from there. Not really keen on the whole public transport thing to be honest. Of course. Everyone has their likes and dislikes. Electric scooter from barton hill ?

Train is under £5 on a Saturday. Regardless, you'd hope that with Bristol really targeting reducing traffic they'd be some sort of football or bus supporters ticket. Meanwhile FGRs new ground will be next to the motorway with everyone driving which is what I thought he was against...... unless he's paid for 1/2 FM. I'll just check to see if he's planned to install airship stops in Nailsworth and FM Ok, let's go at it like this. 20k FM? And we make it to the Championship. We luck out and start attracting 15k supporters. I'd imagine most, unless they live nearby, will be using the train system. Can you imagine the chaos at Temple Meads as thousands descend on the place, along with several thousand being away fans, say Millwall? Temple Meads is one of the busiest stations outside London. Thought they were also going to reopen the tunnel that takes you onto cattle market road. If most london clubs can cope with thousands then 15-20k next to a big train station and assumed more buses then its probably one of the better places to put a stadium

Best off we just stay at the Mem as it is, maybe whack up a couple more tents when our capacity gets reduced once again.

Not like if we had a 30k stadium we would be anywhere near capacity whilst mid table league 1. I am a believer though our fortune on the pitch will only change once we have an improved stadium. Today is a perfect example of where we are at as a club. Struggling to beat clubs like Accrington Stanley, lose player we have on loan to clubs in the same league. Brighton have not looked back since building their ground, today beat Liverpool 3 nil.

It always amazes me when people just pick a single game as if it would be the standard at the FM. Eg, picking Millwall causing trouble as if it were norm.
The reality is that when the police expect holligans, they react accordingly. Millwall also don’t give a toss about us, honestly when was the last time we saw real trouble in a standard league game?
There are also plenty of clubs who have a single station that deal with much bigger. Pompey, for example

And there was trouble when Millwall last visited, as there was when a few larger Clubs came to us.

There will always be trouble if people want to cause trouble IMO. I’d hazard a guess that most fans already get a train to Bristol and go drinking in the centre now anyway, before coming to the ground.

I think part of the problem last time was that police kettled some of their fans in a pub until after kick off, and then marched them to the ground surrounded by police vans and blue lights - not really sure that anything much actually happened, but it looked like A&S were keeping busy!

So we should let the one time the police made a mistake dictate the entire future of Bristol Rovers, even though 99.5% of games are absolutely fine? How do other clubs do it?

I can't agree with the idea that football grounds shouldn't be near well connected public transport because of potential trouble. It needs to be managed like it would wherever it may happen.
Perhaps we would have to contribute more to policing on a match day, but increased gate receipts should pay for that.
