Will you still say that when we get a decent draw in the next round? If we'd lost tonight it would have been melt down time on here later. Yes I’d always rather results in the league than the cup personally, but that’s just me. Would there be a meltdown if we’d lost tonight but had 4 points in the league table though? JCH needs to catch up on his fitness having missed pre-season and is working well with Smith that will benefit us in the league

Absolutely, we love a meltdown on GasChat. Anything else is just a poor imitation.

We’ve done better in the League Cup in recent times, knocking the likes of Fulham and Cardiff out. Hopefully we can go on another run again this year.

Very strong side, arguably stronger than Saturday. Intrigued how the front 2 get on together. Smith looked promising in his debut and I could imagine them complimenting each other. Going for a routine win with that team. Boom!

When did Rovers ever have a routine win when it comes to cup games? To answer AF's question I believe only the West and South West stands are open and seats in the former are already sold out. Boom!

QPR equalise against City. Now 3-3 in that game. That will serve them right for creaming themselves over Marcus TrescoTHICK in the Rovers thread on their forum.

First win, 3 goals, JCH starts and scores as usual, Tyler Smith grabbing a brace, into the next round.
Well done Rovers.

It’s 4312 and everybody is in the middle except the full backs who haven’t really got forward much st all. We’ve basically passed it across the back four while they’ve looked up for help whilst the midfield three have stood still 10 yards apart from each other hiding from the ball and marked by Cheltenham’s midfield whom have gone very narrow in the full knowledge that everything we do will be central. It’s soul destroying to watch but we’re winning which is the only good thing I can say about it. If this way of playing continues then Cogs better get us pushing for top six because if he doesn’t we’ll be lucky to get over 6000 each week this season. GC actually said in the pre match interview that he can’t see how we could set up in a more attacking way. That is a statement that should worry us all. Two nil though so what do I know!!! To be fair we played with more tempo and look much better after the break. Still not convinced the narrow approach will get us out of the bottom few though, Cheltenham were poor , league 1 is better , a plan B is needed.
