We click tonight and play to our best. 3-0. Actually I don't even dream these things anymore, but I don't think we will lose for some unknown reason.
I'm going 1-1 7,800

Options will be very limited with no Rodman or Sercombe so wingbacks seems like the obvious choice. As Tranmere are supposed to be physical and direct 3 centre backs might also be useful.
Other than Bennett we've got no attacking midfielders and I'm not enthused by a midfield 3 of Clarke, Ogogo and Upson.
Clarke and Ogogo are battlers and should be able to do the donkey work in midfield with support from the wings backs when we go forward.
We don't have the quality to play through midfield so for now I think we'll have to go more direct. Therefore I think we'd benefit from 3 up front. JCH, Adeboyejo and Smith.
You could replace one of those 3 with Nichols or Bennett and play them just behind a front 2 but neither are likely to relish a physical battle so I'd favour 3 up top.

I wonder if Payne will be in Bristol or London during the game tonight?

I fear a stuffing from an organised side who know each other well! We on the other hand are struggling! 1-3? So organise that before playing Bolton's youth team they lost all 3 games whilst conceding 8 goals! Bolton’s youth team drew with Coventry who soundly beat us...

I am by no means a professional manager so not claiming what I say is correct, but for me in my own opinion I would like to see something different from us tonight. I would like us to go 5-3-2 with wingbacks and try to get some width into our play. We have three very good centre backs and Kilgour and Davies would add defensive cover to help and back up our wingbacks which has looked like they have needed so far this season. Failing that and GC wants to continue with getting the ball from back to front as quick as possible I would go 4-3-3 with smith and adeboyejo running and working the channels for the long all in behind and keep JCH central. Would prefer to see us with width and get the ball down and play personally but could see us getting a result with either of the two formations mentioned I'm all for that, but where's the creative midfield to lighten the load on the back 4, to put chances together for our front line coming from? Our midfield is the weak link. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the lack of creativity in our midfield for tonight’s game, we can only hope that this is sorted by the end of the window. The lack of midfield creativity is the reason behind the two options I would like to see tonight, maybe the long ball 4-3-3 option would be best. I’m not expecting to see an entertaining game of football tonight with the quality of the two teams on the pitch I’m just hoping we can find a way to get a result from the game and that the players representing BRFC tonight give everything they have

Kelly's missing from today's Development Squad game, assuming he's not injured then I assume he's in tonight's squad but oddly Tomlinson misses out as he's playing this afternoon. So possibly 4-4-2 with Leahy at left wing, with Rodman or Bennett or the right.

0-0 or 0-1 / 0-2
These are very sad times .... which I fear will get worse before they get better.
Coughlans interview if we do lose tonight will be a straight replay from Saturday... “ These are honest good lads who work hard in training” ... I think the writing was on the wall this season when Ollie Clarke was made Captain.

If you ignore their result against Bolton ie BWFCs Youth team in essence, Tranmere have let in 5 goals in 2 games.
Based on this going for either a 1-1 or possibly 2-1 either way.

Bizarre he hasn’t featured especially how well he was doing last season.

Little bit harsh on the two new players not being wingbacks, personally from what I’ve seen of them so far they look as though they would both benefit from having a more attacking role and having more defensive cover around them. At the moment both do look a little less defensively sound than what is required but both have been left exposed in all our games to date which hasn’t helped them

A hard fought 1-0 win would be very well received. A defeat here and I think we can all agree that we are nowhere near good enough for this league.

If GC feels we were too gung-ho vs Coventry then we are in for a real shitfest tonight...

Best pitch in the league and our manager wants to roll our sleeves up and fight
We have been awful at home ever since the pitch was sorted out, ironically after having one of the best home records in England on the cabbage patch.
I therefore propose the groundsman is sacked and we hire Stevie Wonder as his replacement.

If GC feels we were too gung-ho vs Coventry then we are in for a real shitfest tonight... I think it’s becoming clear that with GC in charge we will be playing negative football. You only have to look at the recruitment over summer to see that. GC is a defender by trade. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that his team can defend.

From his interview saturday he believe's that he has gone to gung - ho to soon thus far this season!! 😱😲 WTF.. So I doubt it will be pretty and I think it will be a draw or a Tranny win.😤 I saw quite a lot of football on tv this weekend and I was thinking about how we play and every side I watched had players balanced out across the pitch. What makes Cogs think that by having everyone in the middle of the pitch when we’re in possession we’ll be successful is beyond me. I hope he proves me wrong and we win both tonight and Saturday if he sticks with it but I just can’t see it happening. Every manager we play against is going to tell his side to defend narrow and attack with width. nail on head. We are being seriously left behind, and it's been happening for well over a season now. Even the lower leagues now have players with sharp crisp passing, athleticism, and clever football. And/or they have a USP that they at least know how to implement, be it counter attacking, an abundance of pace, or even physicality and the dark arts. They do something and they do it well. OK, that doesn't make them the most amazing team, and could still be mid-table, but it gives them a chance of results, and a base to build some progress on. I'm concerned that we are just meh. Ultra meh. With little plan to get better.

We’ve got an imbalanced squad full of (largely) slow, predictable and workman-like players - and our better ones are injury prone. I already can’t wait for the season to finish... quite the feat when we’re still in August.

You only have to look at the recruitment over summer to see that. GC is a defender by trade. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that his team can defend. But is that down to GC or funding being pulled half way though the summer, just after GC was talking about marquee signings and "big, big, names"? To me he doesn't sound like a BS'er so I feel he must have been led on by somebody to believe we were signing some decent forwards. He does try and play an attacking game hence Smith & Bennett started on Saturday unfortunately he doesn't seem to have the players at his disposable. With Sercs now seemingly joining Rodders, THD, Little and even Matthews on the treatment table.
