At least our shape looked better even though it had a very defensive look based on those selected.

Wow, a lot of ratings in this thread for an evening game. Might take some time to get the final results up.
Here are my opinions from the game
Jaakkola 6.5 Caught better this game
Davies 7.5 Hardly put a foot wrong
Craig 7.5 Untroubled
Kligour 7.5 A few naive moments but immense throughout. Is he left or right footed? I couldn't tell.
Hare 8 Great crosses for Smith's first half chance and the goal. Most of our attacks came from his side
Clarke 6 Put a shift in and showed good intent
Upson 6 Controlled in possession, but I felt he could have got it out wide quicker to Hare (and Leahy) when against 9
Ogogo 5.5 Workmanlike but limited
Leahy 5 Wing-back suits him better than full-back but missed a couple of good chances and suffered in comparison to Hare
Smith 6.5 Won some good fouls but didn't get on the ball enough
Clarke-Harris 7.5 Led the line and seems to relish being the main men. Well taken goal. Faded towards the end as would be expected without a full preseason
Subs: Bennett 5 Played too central to stretch Tranmere, which is what was needed
Adeboyejo 6
Nichols 3 Would have said NOLE, but then he had that 1-on-1
Crowd 6
Ref 8 Maybe favoured us a bit if anything

Results in and Ed Upson was Man of the Match with a score of 7.73.
This was Upson's third best ever rating in these threads following an 8.0 and 7.9 in back-to-back games away at Walsall and Oxford last season. His only previous MotM performance was a 6.6 achieved in the opening game of last season at Peterborough.
Only two players rated lower in a league game last season than Nichols' 2.60 in this game. Joe Partington's 2.56 at home to Doncaster and Alex Rodman's 2.50 away to Shrewsbury.
Nichols' low rating was the third lowest substitute rating in games at the Mem and sixth lowest overall. At home only Bradley Goldberg's 2.28 against Bath City and Ollie Clarke's 2.43 against Eastleigh were lower. In away games, Adam Dawson's 2.33 at Macclesfield, Billy Bodin's 1.83 at Shrewsbury and Byron Moore's 2.14 at Coventry were all also lower.
The starting XI average was 7.06.
